Did anyone ask Anora to marry Alistair and then have Alistair kill her Father?

If you let him kill Logain can you still make Alistair king?

Yes, but Anora won't marry him. Imagine that.

Don't let Alistair kill Loghain if you want them to marry, you have to kill him yourself.

She has the same objection to marrying a Cousland who personally offed Loghain. To anyone who this concerns, let Alistair do it if you want to marry Anora personally.

Alistair has to be unhardened if you want your Cousland to be king and kill Loghain. Otherwise he agrees to take the throne when Eamon suggests it. AND I think it adds to Anora's character that even if she's willing to accept the death of her father, she refuses to marry the man who did it, even if it costs her the throne.

I once set up the marriage for her and Alistair, had Alistair off Loghain and then when the decision to make them rule jointly came, Anora looked at my warden like he was insane.

I made Anora queen alone, Alistair alone, both king and queen. I always kill Loghain and always win the Landsmeet. I hate lying to Anora but I don’t like her much. I wonder if I should lose the Landsmeet by telling Anora the truth and going for the brawl? Is the brawl really hard?

No, it's not hard. The fight ends as soon as Loghain is about to die, so focus on him for a fast victory.

You don't need Anora's support to win at the landsmeet, just do Ignacio's quests from the market, a trial of crows or something like that. Find Oswyn in the torture room whe rescuing Anora, ask him if his father will support you in the landsmeet. The talk to the templar and Vaughan Kendalls in the cells where Howe is. The in the tavern talk to Wolfe and tell him your sorry to hear about the south falling, Bann Segard and ask him to support you then alfstanna near the bar and give her her brothers ring (the templar in the cells).

Then at the landsmeet, first mention the Blight is more a threat than Orlais
Then how Loghain allowed Howe to torture nobles
Then that Loghain sent a blood mage to kill Eamon.

you will then have support from Wolfe, Segard, Alfstanna, Vaughan (if you didn't kill him), a noble that owes you from doing Ignacio's quest and some other guy.

Though since you get xp for a lot of this, you might consider doing it all no matter whether Anora's been buttered up.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to trying this without her support.

For me it's more fun to win at the Landsmeet, initiate the brawl (don't offer the duel), trounce Loghain's ass on the floor, then when the duel is called for impune his honor, beat the stuffing out of him AGAIN, kill him and then call Anora a backstabbing **** (for turning on my warden).

Even on those runs when I support her for queen (leaving out the backstabbing **** part) because you can still have her support AND trigger the fight with Loghain (just don't initiate the duel). The only time the free for all is forced on you is if you lose the Landsmeet.

Quick question...I've never actually promised my support to Anora then at the last minute give it to Alistair. How does she react and is it satisfying?

Pretty much its--she supports you thinking "you should give me the throne" and you say, "No, I want Alistair to be king" and then it's "Off to the tower with her". Not much drama.   The only time anything more is said is if you arrange a wedding (for yourself or Alistair) prior.  I wanted to see what she'd say if I arranged the wedding, and then had Alistair off Loghain and she looked at my warden like "are you nuts?" when i said they'd rule together.  So I made him solo king.

Much more fun to have her oppose you when you want to make Alistair king. The ones where I supported her were actually just status quo.

awww thats disappointing, I would have liked to have seen a bit of a tantrum. Though I might try the arranged marriage then have Alistair kill Loghain just to see that look.

yeah I do like the 'nice despot' line lol

I love her response to Eamon when he asks her to swear fealty, but I think she tells him off in all cases.

I almost attempted to do this in my playthrough, but despite my neutrality towards Anora, I saw no reason to backstab her at the Landsmeet. That kind of treachery should be reserved for more sinister characters in my opinion.

Sounds good. We all know Anora would turn on the warden even when the warden saved her life. :o

Well, if someone saved your life but then said they were kicking you out of your home and giving your job (which you love and are very good at) to someone else, pretty much stripping you of your life's work, how would you react? :P

If you save her and tell her that her father must face
consequences she will lie. She will say you kidnapped her. The
reason she wanted the Warden to save her was because she wanted to hold all the
cards in her hands.

I’m actually thinking of losing the landsmeet and going for
the fight. I played this game so many times it might be fun to have a fight. I
have a cocky human noble who has every reason to want Loghain dead. Howe would
never have moved all the Couslands without knowing Loghain was going to support
him.

I know, what a total witch, loving her father like that.

Of course, if she followed through, then she'd be a cold-hearted witch who'd even kill her own father to take the crown.

She can love her father. However she lied and got the warden in trouble. Why would the warden care for her? She set him up. Better she supported her father and didnt try to play the warden. At least not a cocky no nonsense warrior type.:D

She should have told the warden she wasn't going to support him.

So that the Warden would be even *more* able to toss her off her throne and kill her father?

She has one card. She'd be pretty dumb to show it. Yeah, her plan backfires because she's not the protagonist, but at least she had a plan.
