as you know you've got some pretty dedicated fans whom absolutley love this game and see it as having a huge franchise potential. We know that a sequel was atleast in pre-production phase before getting thrown into the void (some screens were posted awhile back featuring concept art). My question is... if the IP is truly dead then can we have a little bit of history as to what happened? And why a sequel was scrapped? It would give fans such as me (as stupid as this sounds) a bit of closure and allow us to stop living in misguided hope of a sequel.

you mean like how they revealed what happened with KotOR 3?

I don't know... on one side I'd love to know more but on the other it'd hurt so much to see what could have been, but I guess it's not the same as KotOR 3 since there is no expanded universe for JE.

In the end I'd just wish that somebody at Bioware remembers this franchise and sees its full potential but if that ain't possible a nice artwork and design ideas compilation would be great to provide closure.

Haha except there were rumours flying around for ages for Kotor3/SWTOR whereas it has been dead silent for JE2 since about 2008.

I agree a few official artwork releases, design ideas in like a 10-20 minute video would be enough. Just some info would be nice.

Didn't the Fable anniversary edition just come out? Maybe well have an anniversary sequel announcement..

From what I understand most of the team that worked on Jade Empire is part of the Dragon Age team, so they would either have to make a fourth team to work on a new Jade Empire game or wait until a team is free from current projects.

I'm sure we'll see a Jade Empire 2 at some point. Come on this is EA we're talking about. Sooner or later they'll run out of old IP's to remake.

God I would love for a new Jade Empire! It is my all time favorite game, i mean if you're not going to do a sequel at least do a HD version!

You know, there´s a way to see this game being made. Bioware could develop the story and dialogue, and they would let some other part of EA or even another enterprise as a third party being responsible for the programming, graphics, music, combat, stages...

Well I hope they at least make an anniversary edition I mean it's 10th year anniversary is actually next year 2015 according to the game case.
