I used to feel the same. But now that I can pizza run on host and hack glitch with dodge-able kits it's cool

 

For claymore I use a vorcha flamer: shoot, immediately start flamer until reload click, shoot. It's only reload hiding, but it works well.

I have tied the reload cancel to my mouse thumb button. While I play and press it, I tend to jerk the mouse and probably miss more shots than by reloading normally. It works up close against Atlas, though. And bubbled phantoms.

I m sure u can do it if u care to. Took me some time to apply myself to it (i mean relaoad cancelling), but feels easy now, most of the time.

It s like pizza running, i could nt understant what i was doing wrong, then i got the trick.

What I suggest, try RCing with dodge-less classes first. Krogans, batarians, jugg, fat turians and destroyer under the effect of devastator mode make RCign easy. When you get the hang of it(that is, when you figure out what moment you need to press the key to RC), move on to cancelling with powers.

 

Vanguards(any but cabal) also make RCing easy. Charge is one of the few(maybe the only) powers that doesn't execute if it has no target, but the RC will still happen. Use this to your advantage.

 

At least that's the way I learned myself. It was actually quite easy.

 

On topic: I ship characters together. My preferred pairing is Valkyrie/Demolisher.

Re all the much appreciated advice for my RC-hating problem - I know how to do it, and I do it pretty much all the time nowadays, but I still hate it, the same way I hate charge-up weapons and even whole kits (like them drell) even though I know they're effective. (Yep, there goes some more fessing up.)

 

As for pizza running, I know how to do that too, it's just that more often than not, I derp half way to the EZ, drop the pizza in the middle of a spawn, get myself and a few teammates who came trying to salvage the operation killed, and then feel stupid for even trying. When Clusum and I play duos and I get my hands on the pizza, you know what he does? He runs behind me so he can take over when I mess it up, that's how predictable it is.

 

Nothing a few more thousand hours in the game won't fix, tho.

Maybe it's another reason - did you play an asari kit...?

More serious: you duo'ed on his host, I guess, so it's more reliable for him to run the pizza.

I am terrible with the Claymore.  Even more now as I'm not playing all that much now.

Nope, afraid not, we always play on my host because he's such a gentleman. And because I need every crutch I can get.

I screwed it up with Fury today. Tried a melee approach against Collecters. Then I tried to redeem myself with Justicar, but the Banshee picked me up in wave 8 when I dodged into an object edge.By then two of the original lobby members gave up. I redeemed myself with the Human Engie at last - she rarely fails me.

I hate Platinum.   I mean I really really hate Platinum

 

It's not that I'm unable to play it.  I can but it just p!sses me off completely.

 

Sometimes I can work myself upto do it, but the last time.  

 

I dropped into a lobby of friends and didn't notice it was set, as we'd not played it together before I wasn't expecting it.  

 

It was Geth London and I was AA all power based and only basic health I just died as soon as I stuck my head out.

 

I rage quit on wave 2 

 

I did come back better prepared and I stuck it out for another game but it wasn't fun

Also, I think platinum is a tedious heaping of garbage and a big disappointment because there are so many cool ways they could have added more actual challenge and not just more big armor slow moving hp slabs per wave.
