What are some concerns you have for DA:I?

Lack of an appropriate PC interface. This includes, but may not be limited to:
- Fixed low FoV range. (see most cross-platform games)
- No ability to rebind keys
- No hotkeys
- Ridiculous nested menus because controllers only have a handful of buttons. (See X:Rebirth)
- No point and click cursor for easily giving order on the screen (See The Bureau:XCom)
- HUGE FONTS because they believe we are sitting across our living rooms.
and maybe the lack of an override folder... because even something as simple as that can make the game much more enjoyable over many playthroughs.

Biggest concern is a lack of consequences for the Dark Ritual.
I imagine you're in for disappointment then, since there's no way it can play such a significant role unless the storyline is fixed in such a way that the dark ritual happens regardless of what you did in DA:O.
I smell a retcon my friend, they are making a big deal about the dark ritual (hell, they even made a dlc about it)
Or have you forgot about leliana?
Gaider explicitely stated some months ago, after the PAX demo, that the DR will not be canon, and that the OGB exists only if you choose that option in DAO. Unless Bioware scraps the impor system, the DR will not be canon.

Maybe because Bioware knows that making the Templars in-general badguys would be even worse and unfair to others
Sentinel358 wrote...
Because the point of the Mage templar conflict is that different players see the issue in conflicting ways, some people think the templars are right and that the mages need to be looked over, others think mages deserve equality. If you just made Templars the "Bad guys" that would ruin the entire concept of the issue
KaiserShep wrote...
I wouldn't judge this decision too harshly until we get a better idea of what the red templars are like. Meredith, for example, was also a lyrium-addled templar, but at the same time did have a backstory that made you understand her position more.
Templars could have bad guy-section just as the same as mages have different sections. Some could be "bad" just the same way without any "red lyrium" crap. Just as one of the mage sections could be "bad" too.

I dunno. Don't really see the resemblance. It's just my Cousland Warden.
On-topic. Being forced to leap across the Moral Event Horizon. There's a fine line between having to take morally grey actions and the game punishing you for trying to play a good character.

Shale was cut from the game long before the decision to make her DLC occurred. She wasn't going to be done in time, so she was cut.GreyPouponWarden wrote...
I'm concerned about being micro-transferred to death. I can't afford to spend as much as I used to on gaming, so I'm hoping the DLC will be more like ME3 Citadel and less "cut Shale from the base game and turn her into DLC.
Then, when the game was delayed for marketing reasons, they had the time to recover that content and build DLC with it.
If you don't like Shale getting cut and then showing up as DLC, then either you prefer the game to come out later, or you prefer Shale never get released, even though much of the work on her was already done.

Ah I see, I guess I just hate the whole concept of companions being DLC. There were parts in DA 2 that Sebestians presence felt disjointed and forced during dialogues, rather than the others who blend in seemlesly during scenes.

It's really the only thing I'm worried about.
But hopefully I'll get by. We'll see.

My only real concern is that it won't sell enough copies and we won't see another DA game. It's almost like people will be looking for problems with the comments on here (BSN) due to issues with previous games.
Yes.
And this too.

I've got some really bad news for you, bEVE, and I hate to be the one to bring it.
That decision was made, and announced. The game will have a voiced protagonist. There also will be a wheel, although the PAX demo shows the dialogue wheel has morphed.
http://dragonage.wik...ersation_wheel.
On the other hand:
1. the wheel will work differently (we just don't know how differently) from DA2's
2. paraphrases will have tooltips that show a "significant amount" of what your character might next say or do
I view both things as good enough news to take away. :innocent:

Oh, I knew that. My concern isn't about if there is a voiced protagonist. My concern is if I can live with it. My basic attitude is that I'm betting on that I can.

I'm hoping they also let your companions have a little more dimension than in DA2. I'd like to be able to have a rational conversation with them about hot-button issues, and maybe even get a chance to change their point of view a little. I wanted to smack Anders and Fenris BOTH upside the head sometimes.

I'm still hopeful that this will work, but based on the limited examples we've seen so far I can't yet tell.CybAnt1 wrote...

I would really love an 19 - 30 year old Elven guy who is exactly like Alistair (humor and also.. *cough* inexperienced *cough.*)
They could be an Elven rebel.. or something.
But Bioware has already completed writing all the companions, their appearances are also finished..
So I'm gonna have to do some serious praying that someone like Alistair is a LI and then weep because it is VERY unlikely. :'(

That the story will not make much sense with a variety of inquisitors, and that it will rely on jarring railroading to keep the plot on track.
That the gameplay will be an ugly mish-mash of action-RPG and tokenistic nods to tradition.

You enter the veil tear at the end to close it. Inside you find a small child entity that is actually the maker. It tells you if you want to close the veil, you have to chose the red, green or blue lyrium vein. The red lyrium vein closes the veil and kills all demons and darkspawn, but also kills you and your friends. The blue lyrium turns you into Andraste 2.0, and you now control all demons and spirits and can make the world a better place, but you can never leave the fade. The green merges all the races/magic-nonmagic/spirits etc into one new race.
Another Allers.

- avoid turning returning characters into bit players and/or given just cameo appearances (edit: see Mass Effect for doing a good job, albeit not perfect)
- avoid too many over-the-top 'colourful animations' (eg. see Guild Wars -> Guild Wars 2) found in many Japanese media and games (I thought North American game designers were better than this)
- don't want to be another 'maid of Kirkwall'
- would like to see the return of good main character dialogues. I actually found the male, sarcastic and witty Hawke to be one of the best characters in DA2. His facial expressions, along with his humour ("Potion shop... 'remedy that'... you, my man, are priceless."), improved a game with a slightly above average story.

Played both and well they were not as fun as i had hoped, i mean like really boring as for my dislike for big publishers, that started late 2012 so the games was already out.KaiserShep wrote...
