As long as they don't do anything as train wreck-y as ME3's ending or DA2 I will be content.

My concern is that the Dragon Age Keep well be used as a crutch to bypass (instead of fixing) previous and future bugs in the Dragon Age series...I could be wrong. I hope I am.

An ending like DA2. No matter what you do differently Anders gonna blow up the chantry, Orsino and Meredith become monsters because.....?

You live and disappear. I've noticed bioware like these type of endings and now when most think about ME3 they all hate it due to the ending, despite enjoying everything up to that point.

What made DAO so great was the choices and the consequences of those choices. Ex: Alistair can refuse the DR and Morrigan will leave, despite having a 100 approval rating. And then you end up sacrificing yourself cuz Alistair wasn't with you.

lack of options for character creation and customization. from hair to class abilities. I prefer a non-class system (aka fallout/skyrim) but I know that's not bioware's style and I wont knock them for it. they make up for it in storyline. still there is no reason why a fighter cant have at least very basic lock picking skills or dual wield, or sneaky mage, or a thief who can hold his own on the frontlines in any fight. I had a really hard time dealing with the lack of options in DA2.

My biggest concern for Dragon Age: Inquisition is the overuse of fetch quests, due to their abundance in both Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2. I would prefer fewer, more developed side quests, with crafting and more enjoyable activities to provide income, pad game length, and so on.

Besides that, my other concern is in regards to the closure of the protagonist for DA:I. I personally felt that DA 2 did not provide enough closure for Hawke and his or her companions (relative to the amount of closure the Warden received at the end of DA:O), so I'm hoping that Inquisition will provide more closure for its protagonist.

I'm worried that the combat animations for the mage will go back to resemble DAO more than DA2.

DA2 was the only game where it felt badass being a mage due to the animations that made you feel like you weren't just standing back and throwing a few spells. Most fun being a mage out of any game ever (it's all in the active animation and sounds!).

It was extremely boring being a mage in DAO, at least until you got enough spells so you could spam those so your character didn't stand back and do the same SLOW animation over and over again.

My biggest concern is that the game won't look as good or function as well on PS3 than it will on PS4. I read what's-his-name's explanation that there will be MORE GRASS on PS4... so errrmmm... if that's the only difference then I'll be fine.

I know this sounds stupidly stupid but I'm REALLY worried that the only male LI options will be 35+ year old furry men that have been around (if you know what I mean.)
I would really love an 19 - 30 year old Elven guy who is exactly like Alistair (humor and also.. *cough* inexperienced *cough.*)
They could be an Elven rebel.. or something.
But Bioware has already completed writing all the companions, their appearances are also finished..
So I'm gonna have to do some serious praying that someone like Alistair is a LI and then weep because it is VERY unlikely. :'(

THIS! Games tend to be really creative with their male character designs, which is great, but in terms of LIs it means we're generally left with weird-looking aliens, short hairy dwarves, old folk who moan about their dead wives, whereas female LIs are all generally young and hot (I'M BASICALLY LOOKING AT YOU MASS EFFECT).
Either give me more attractive male LIs or give me some variety in the female section. I wouldn't mind romancing a kick-ass, short and chubby bearded female dwarf, for instance!! :kissing:

You can actually get a glimpse of it in the DAI Combat dev diary

That it will be delayed for another year or that it will be short.

I copied and pasted some of the previous posters concerns.

-That the game is a fast paced button masher action game ala DA2
-The game holding your hand and treating you like an idiot so it can be "accessible" to non gamers and casual gamers. This includes the game being unwilling to punish you for a choice (ME3's Rachni queen clone...thing comes to mind) and make the outcome the same no matter what.
-Our actions and choices have no effect on the outcome of the game
-Unrealistic/flashy combat
-A single ending
-Lack of moral dilemmas
-That I'll be a spectator of an already written story again.
-Emphasis on multiplayer and having it affect single player
-Beardless dwarfs (it´s disgusting) :)
-Dialogue Wheel
-Day one DLC
-Red boots DLC and microtransactions
-The game being too short

I can go on and on but the less DA2 i see in DA:I the better

I have zero concerns. I don't need games to be tailored to my tastes. I am a very flexible gamer.

Actually, one thing that disappointed me about that recent bit of info is that dialogue options don't give the full text of what will be said when hovered over (as we'd been lead to believe) just "action choices."

It won't be given a chance and it will be held to that one BioWare game you really really really liked.

Well said. To me game development is an art. and all art is subjective. I am a musician and I have seen this numerous times, if it is not like this or that?  to many that equates to a complete failure.

My concern would be the damned if you do, damned if you don't dilemma.  I understand that in some instances, but there should be a way in most situations to make a positive or very negative impact on the world as a whole. instead of regardless of what you do, the ending of a chapter or arcing S.L ends the same. I have hope things will not be that way this time around. I would like to see more balance in that approach.

How do you know something is not to your tastes until you try it? Would you put Something like CoD in the same box as System Shock or Spec Ops the Line?

Its about judging something on its own merits. Not your preconceived expectations of what it should be because it has this vague label of RPG, RTS, or FPS attached to it.

I am as biased and self-serving as every other human walking the planet but I try.

I was a fan of BioWare since Shattered Steel but I didn't connect those dots until maybe BG1 or two and that happened after MDK2. BioWare other then a focus on story and characters does not stick to any one formula and I am happy they don't.

There would be no KoToR, Jade Empire or Mass Effect without that bravery.

I am more then a decade past being sick of this idealized vefsion of BioWare so many people hold onto but I give my respect to those developers that don't repeat the same thing over and over again but try to stretch their legs failures or not trying is better then being Madden.

It's odd that people think one thing I'm against is innovation.

I'd love to see a lot of innovation. You can keep pushing the edge of what a CRPG can/should do, without ditching the core of what some people still see as defining the genre.

I think it would be innovative for Bio to do a game where combat can be avoided more frequently, perhaps even almost always, through non-combat options - stealth, persuasion, trickery, etc. That would be something new and different for them - and the CRPG 'industry'. Yes, they would have to do something different than making XP dependent on battle if they stick with a leveling system.

I'm really simpatico with the people who have posted the "Moar Political Intrigue/game of thrones" threads. I'd love a game where instead of 5% of it being devoted to ruling & intrigue (Landsmeet/Vigils Keep/the Orlesian Ball), it's closer to 30%. Perhaps it can move from being a single-act focus of the game to being a larger focus.

I'd love them to rip up the three class plus three specs system they seem stuck with using; this is exhibit A for something I would do differently. I'd like to see the game have at least 4 classes, and maybe even 6-8. Of course, most of my class concepts admittedly revolve around changing what are now specs into classes themselves. (I know there are a lot of people who want classless; my thinking tends to go in a different direction.)

I'd love them to add an "Orient" to this game. No, they don't have to turn it into Jade Empire, or Mists of Pandaria. But just add a small land, where perhaps into the world of Thedas can start flowing some Asian ... flavor ... as well as people, of course.

There's so many new & interesting things they could do, and I'd love to see them do it.

On the other hand, to be frank, some of the DA2 changes didn't strike me as "brave." Instead, they were the opposite. From my POV, anyway.

What is a concern I have? Multiplayer. That's one. I really don't want that in this game.

Another would be the plot. I remember when the "Fires Above" trailer came out I was distressed because it seemed like a rehash of DA: O's mindless monster main quest. However, their later statements about the quest being almost investigative (your job is to find out who's coordinating Thedas' Bermuda Triangle) put those worries mostly to rest. Hope it lives up to it, though.

Another worry related to that trailer, I didn't care for all the fantasy. All the monsters. I see no purpose for it. When that trailer first arrived they looked like a bunch of aliens, not evolutions of what was in DA: O and ][.

They actually stated this already in the PAX demo, if you watch it carefully. I too though it was a feature for every dialogues, but some poster noticed it and started discussing it in the forum last year, and then some Bioware devs clarified that it was a feature only for the action wheel, not the tone wheel or the newly reaction wheel.

You know if you like or dislike certain elements. If a game is full of elements and features you like, reason stands that it would be appealing to you. If a game had no features you liked and features you actively disliked, why would you buy it anyway? I know that I don't like games with little to no story. Combat is not a draw for me and neither is multiplayer, character customization and roleplaying are important to me. I have not played CoD but I don't need to play it to know It would not be to my tastes. Having no wants or concerns about a game is confusing to me. I'm imagining someone who plays any game just to have something to keep busy, not because they like it.

The cartoonish action-game combat. I had enough of it in DA2. That is my only concern, though.

None at the moment though I haven't gone out of my way to search for new information in quite a while.
