Will Inon Zur and Aubrey Ashburn return to compose the soundtrack for DA:I?

I found one of the best things about DA:O is what a wonderful job they did with the soundtrack. Leliana's Song and I Am the One were beautiful tracks. In fact most of the soundtrack was great. I especially love the music that plays during the battle at Ostigar.

What's weird is that I thought DA2's soundtrack was pretty poor in comparison to DA:O. I kept thinking to myself "Did they get different people to do the music or something?" Well I just started doing my research today and turns out these two DID compose DA2. Which is weird cause I don't find the music nearly as memorable as DA:O's was. So I looked up their work on DA2 and came across these songs:

What the? Oh Bioware I call foul. Where were these awesome songs when I played through DA2 twice? I checked that Rogue Heart is the 2nd song that plays in the credits. You know if you actually stuck around to watch em. I mean I usually don't watch credits, but I Am the One started right off the bat with DA:O's credits and I listened to the whole thing. But looks like I was wrong, DA2 did have some gems in it's soundtrack. Well, hidden gems to be more exact.

Anyway anyone else got high hopes for DA:I's music? Hoping to see these two return to compose the soundtrack? I am. They really help in breathing life in the world of Thedas.

Been listening to his work. Not impressed with it tbh. Sucks we're losing Zur.

Inon Zur will forever have a special place in my heart for creating the absolutely amazing Fallout 3 wasteland theme. Man, was that both beautiful and immersive.

Not to mention his work on Dragon Age was stellar as well, especially "I am the One".

Truth be told, I wasn't a huge fan of the Dragon Age music thus far. I didn't dislike it, per se, but it never really excited me--it was just kind of there.

It's a pity we won't listen to Inon Zur's work again. His music was great and he was honest about DA2. Hopefully we would get Asburn's angelic voice in DAI.

I'm hoping that at the very least they can get her, because honestly the best music Inon composed in Dragon Age involved her.

Inon Zur is great normally, but honestly, the DAO and DA2 soundtracks are forgettable. There are a few tracks that are memorable but the rest is just background noise.

The Mass Effect soundtracks are much better as far as being remembered goes.

His tracks with Aubrey Ashburne were great, but honestly Zur has never reached this level of good since.

I'm pretty excited for the change tbh. As others have said, I felt most of the music in DA was background noise and forgettable; DA:O more so than DA2.

I really liked Morris' work in several series. One of my favorites,

I preferred Origins music to DA2s. I thought DA2s was rushed and I only really liked that one piece from the trailer and Fenris's theme.

Origins was moving and epic. The Battle of Ostagar...The Camp Theme...I am the One...ALL of them were fantastic. Will never understand how people find them forgettable but I guess it goes to different tastes.

I'm looking forward to hearing the new composer's. He did some of the music for ME3 if I recall.

Blasphemy, only like 1 or two of Zur's tracks were any good from origins, the rest were forgettable background noise. He is leagues behind the quality of Morris.

Am I noticing a pattern here? I mean Bioware got rid of Jack Wall for ME3 and now they get rid of Zur for DA3?

This news made me feel more emotion (joy!) than all of Inon Zur's DA work combined.

To lose Zur for that..

That makes me a sad panda.

Trevor Morris is an amazing composer who wrote the music for series like the Tudors, the Borgias,Vikings, pillars of the earth and his work in these shows has impressed me so far...

I found Zur's music to be far too understated. I prefer a little more bombast in my soundtrack.

This is really great actually

How could anyone say that leliana's song or the variations like in the da:o main theme are forgettable? bloody miscreants

No kidding about the hidden gems in the DA2 soundtrack. There is a fight theme in the brothel that I really like but it's very hard to have any fight in there, I think you need to import from awakening some specific choices, and I couldn't find that track in the Internet either.

I'm not particularly fond of Inon Zur tbh, he's good, don't get me wrong, there are some tracks I like a lot and I can't say I ever disliked any of his work, but always seemed a bit generic overall.

I'm not familiar with this Trevor Morris' work, will have to wait and hear.

I've really loved Inon Zurs stuff over the years, he has composed some of my favorite video games, Origins being near the top.  But I've read interviews with him, and he doesn't seem to be very passionate about video games themselves and doesn't play them.  For this reason a new music direction might be interesting IMO

We have no knowledge of how this is going to turn out and therefor we can't really determine if this is good or bad. But I do think that Trevor Morris should keep DAO & DA2's music in mind when he is composing the music for DAI. After all this is the same serie and I think that if the music will be totaly diffrent it might be odd...

I think if they can at least get Aubrey to do some work with Trevor Morris, I'll be happy.

This is exactly how I felt about it.
