So in all of my previous game saves, I saved Ashley. I don't want to replay ME1 and 2 over again just to play with Kaiden in ME3, so I want to start a fresh, non-imported game for ME3 and choose Kaiden as having lived.

My question is, if I do that, will I be able to save him after the Citadel II events with Udina? I read the wiki and I have to have a certain amount of "points", otherwise a reputation check. At the very least, I need Kaiden to be able to unlock Reave and Barrier as bonus powers (though mostly just Reave). Thanks!

Visit him 3 times in the hospital and be friendly. Once on the Normandy, keep talking with him and eventually you will unlock reave. I believe it unlocks once you meet him for lunch.
