If you scroll down on the link below there's a list with all the factors that impact Kaidan and Ash not getting shot as well as joining the crew. I didn't realize some of the things that factor in. It's kind of interesting. Goes back to saving the council as well as if you had thane or kirrahe alive to stop the salarian from being killed because I do remember that if you don't stop it Udina has footage manipulated to make it look like you killed the salarian.

If you romance them and visit them once while they are awake you are good. I always knew visiting them when they were asleep was a waste. If you scroll down more it says that if you didn't shoot them they should approach you on normandy. I've always had that happen I think.

Thanks. I knew it was possible for them not to be talked down. I've seen YouTube videos of it. There are so many discrepancies if you just read people's claims. I bet your bitter Shepard was in the negative numbers, right? lol

You should get like -5 if you're wearing Cerberus armor during the coup.

The only problem I see here is that there's no mention of a point system required on whether you can get Kaidan/Ashley to rejoin the crew if they survive. Some claim under certain circumstances they won't join but this says they always can.

I know there was at least once where they didn't join but I'm not sure now about it. I think it might have happened maybe one other time but that might be a bug like how eve dies when I do everything right.

I wonder if the 1-3 reputation check makes a difference as well because I generally have a decent amount of rep by the time the coup happens so I think that is a factor for talking them down since it doesn't say you can't talk them down. It says reputation check. So if your rep is high enough, it triggers it. In this run I told him to get over it then I was paragon feeling like that one time was enough to make my point. I'm officially at 3 so let me report back on how that goes by that system.

If you don't visit Ashley in the hospital and she is shot she will say "I hope the reapers send you to he**"
Wearing Cerberus armor makes it more entertaining

It's even more entertaining if you bring along the robot that smashed her head in in the first place.

I haven't not visited lately with this current bitter shepard so I have never seen that happen. Might still kill kaidan this run though. Definitely not letting him on the ship since it looks like I'll be with Liara and Garrus most of it and Maybe james a bit and then edi/tali for geth.

I'm not going to talk to traynor at all this time and see what happens. And I didn't talk to Edi on the citadel. I want to see how that changes things.

I did not know the conversation depended on what armor you wore. I will try that next time.

It doesn't depend on the armour.
The armour just aids in making that scene all the more hilarious.

I only had the three points and still got the renegade paragon option. So the reputation thing must have some impact. And kaidan was waiting for me.

When throwing him off my ship shep says "I don't think it would work out."  Shep SHOULD SAY, "You aimed your gun at me. Get the hell off my ship." Or maybe "Consider youself lucky to be alive and let's leave it at that."

0-3 does a reputation check to get them to stand down. After looking at that chart I'm thinking you need to use the paragon persuasion option to get them to rejoin the Normandy if you had 0-3. Jeez. Some friends.

It would be funny to confront them in Cerberus armor alongside EDI. Even let EDI take the shot to finish what she started. lol

Just finish another playthrough.

If you choose to save Koris on Rannoch shoot him with the turret and he wll say "target the geth" and "your aiming is off".

On Horizon Miranda can die even if she is loyal, see her 3 times and give her access. When the dialogue wheel comes up to use paragon or renegade on Henry Lawson, I accidently pressed the dialogue on the right which led to a renegade interrupt(which I failed to do). Oriana tries to get out the grasp of her father causing Miranda to move forward making her father shoot her in the stomach. Miranda has enough strength left to throw her father through the glass, but within a few seconds she is dead.

Fortunately I reloaded and Miranda is alive.

Yes, it cuts down on the amount of gratuitous arse shots in the game.

I like Miranda mostly because she was most always in my crew in ME2 (great sentinel structure of warp/overload useful in so many situations!) and because by the end, if you save her sister and especially get them to talk, she does become a lot nicer and you see her differently, that she really is insecure for not having 'earned' anything like shepard or at least that's how she sees it. So I can understand that she might feel like she can't cut it or couldn't if she wasn't given everything she had, but as much as I do like her, it's a pain to keep making these trips to see her. Can't I just do one of two of them? Luckily I noticed I do have some leeway time... I think maybe up to three missions...

Miranda kicks a** in ME2. She is the only one that has powers that affect shields, barriers and armor. I used her more than any of the others. A very tough squadmate. I'm disappointed she wasn't a squadmate in ME3.

I visit her just before doing the genophage mission, after the dreadnought mission and  when I see the Asari councillor

Agreed. No matter what class I chose in ME2, she was on my squad atleast 50 to 60 percent of the time. I was disapointed that she wasn't in ME3. While Kaidon is also a sentinel, I just don't find him as useful. But atleast he's more useful than Ashley. *awaits the inevitable backlash from Ash fans*

Atleast I can use Miranda in the Armax Arsenal Arena. Not quite the same as having her in the vanilla game, but I'll take what I can get. (Along with Grunt, Jack, and Samara).

A renegade (or even a renegon) playthrough, I guess. I tried to play renegade for a while, but started to feel bad pretty soon and failed spectaculary

ME1 is usually completely hopeless. I blame Liara...

Me: Okay, I think I'll kill the rachni queen!
Liara: The queen has done nothing wrong and wants to live in peace
Me: But...I wanted...to do this differently...
Liara: Shepard...
Me: *releases Rachni queen*

I always save the Feros colony (Shiala is one of my favorite characters) and the DA (I think it's the tactically sound option, I save the 10,000 person crew and I like the original councilors) too. Other renegade actions are needlessly cruel or make Shepard look like a dumb racist.

I was a bit more "successful" in ME2 and ME3. Some renegade interrupts are just too funny to not take...but the only major renegade choices I took are sabotaging the genophage cure in my Wreav playthrough and wiping out the Quarians if I can't make peace on Rannoch (I'm not sure if I got renegade points here).

I thought I couldn't get into renegade but I could as long as it was within reason. That way I didn't loathe my Shepard. Many of the renegade decisions make a lot of sense; kill the rachni queen, not negotiate with Balak, sacrifice the council, kill wrex, destroy Maelon's data, delete the geth heretics, keep the collector base, and sabotage the genophage cure. Then killing or letting a few non-essential characters die adds spice; the cerberus crew, the VS, Miranda, and Samara. But to not hate my character I had to still be a good person with some mercy. I had to kill Morinth, free David Archer, try to save the Feros colony, kill the Breeder, get the geth/quarian peace, not gun down unarmed civilians like Shiala or Falere, and not overload the reactor in the Omega DLC.
