I have recruited him many times after the suicide mission and not done his loyalty mission. I believe the difference is he doesn't mention his son seeing him whereas he will mention his son if loyal.

Thanks for the info.
But seriously, not recruit Thane?!?! I find him to be one of my most valuable squadmates. I may never talk to him on the Normandy besides picking up his LM, but he is very often in the squad.

Even my RacistShep will get him, but he may not be concerned about helping him with personal issues.

Really? I loved shredder ammo, especially with my Tempest against the Collectors. But aside from that he is useless indeed, all I did was revive him the whole time.

2) Throw Field
3) +50% weapon damage
4) Can use the Incisor
I don't use shredder. Thane is especially good when paired with someone who can lift (Miranda with Slam, Samara with Pull, Adept/Vanguard Shep). Thane is actually marginally better than Miranda against Collectors because he has Throw rather than Slam or Overload. Thane+Kasumi is my now my go-to team for the Collector Ship on insanity. (Kasumi because she can shut down Harbinger.)

Thane's loyalty is one of the rare cases where I really wanted to fail the mission just to stick it to Thane. He annoys me. He tells himself his **** doesn't stink and acts like a monk yet he's a killer who takes no responsibility for his actions. But my Shepard always got the job done and I couldn't pass up gunning down Jorum Talid.

The prayer recited by Kolyat will be for Thane's soul, not Shepard's.
Nonetheless, he will still stop Kai Leng if you see him at Huerta.

For all Reaper-made forces, use incendiary ammo, decontaminate the area of reaper filth.

Thane is a not at peace with his imminent death, but very pessimistic if you import him with a failed loyalty mission.

Does anyone have a link to a YouTube video or something that shows this? I've tried finding it but couldn't.

Still, I always do his loyalty mission, extra bodies for the grinder and all that.
