At the moment I'm between campaigns, and there won't be much playing time until the next weekend. So I'm sort of diddling around, shooting for some low-hanging fruit in the achievement department.
Yesterday I rolled a brand-new two-hander Duran for the Mighty Blow kill thingy and had him maul his way from the royal palace to the Aeducan Thaig. After some 25 kills - two of which where not Mighty Blows - the Crusher achievement came in, unexpectedly early. This means that 27 Mighty Blow kills must have been racked up already in parallel universes, somehow or other.
I've never played a two-hander Warden, only experimented a bit with using a two-handed secondary weapon on a sword & board tank in order to have one more shatter via Mighty Blow. It didn't pan out, so I think that a good part of the 27 Mighty Blow kills must have been Oghren's or Sten's.
The achievement description does not say anything about the main character doing the killing but that doesn't signify much. There are way too many descriptions in the game that are erroneous, either subtly so or complete and utter bull****.
Does anybody know for certain whether it has to be the main character or not?
At the moment I have my favourite DW rogue hopping around in the Brecilian Forest, racking up XP for two more level-ups so that she can learn the Punisher ability and meanwhile feeding at least one enemy per encounter to Leliana, for the Arrow of Slaying treatment. We're having oodles of fun but the procedure is rather time-consuming, and so I thought I'd better ask before investing too much time into that venture.
"Kill 50 enemies using $TALENT" achievement - does it have to be the main character?

Indeed it does not have to be the main character. Your companions' kills count for the sake of the achievements.

Leliana's AoS damage seems to vary wildly, from around 100 to 400.
The variation is due to the broken calculation of a damage bonus based on level difference in the script for Arrow of Slaying.
