I hope it hasn't be brought up before, but I just got an intresting thought :wizard:

I think it is never stated when the band of three actually works, but since you keep getting
new informations I just assume that they are parallel to Hawke.

Unfortunatly I don't have the notes at hand, so I'm doing this out of my memory:
They research the thin Veil in Kirkwall and foundnd out that the Magister made Veil
thinner - but they didn't found out WHY.

My theorie is that this is actually foreshadowing towards DA:I..
In the last Codex the last survivor of the three says he is going to attempt to
seal back whatever they unleashed which could lead to two possibilities.

1. He failed and whatever he unleashed tries to tear the veil apart -most probably
to make the Fade and the mortal world ONE

2. He succeeded. But the school/order/group that was helping the Magisters back then
is still pissed and decided to wrk on a grander scale to unleash whatever they where planing..

It is completly possible that I have overlooked/forgotten some things,
but I'm still curious what you think about this theory  :)

I think the whole arc is a reference to Gaxkang the Unbound from Origins, but I could be mistaken.

Well, that would be the most obvious version (together with the desire demon you fight in DA2 Xeb..something), but I would like it if it would be a red Herring =D

that reminds me.. too bad you couldn't find a magical mace that destroyed Gaxkang with 1 lucky hit
(after trying to swindle n artist with an absurdly big ego ;-)

I thought that the Veil was so thin in Kirkwall was because it is where Operation Golden City or Bust went down.

Well, the Veil was thinned through slaves who didn't really accepted their fate -and those who just served as a warning.
he three found out that the magisters thinned the Veil further through killing thousands of slaves per year in addition
to the ones that day to crush hope & resistence from "normal" slaves.

The lords of Tevinter were powerful mages, so they most probably knew what happenes if you weaken the Veil,
so I doubt they did it anywhere near settlements (powerhungry doesn't really means bein stupid) - and they also killed
the slaves all at once for the spell. In addition to that.. it would be to "clear".
In Thedas every "historic" event can be dismissed or explained otherwise.
Andraste? Powerful mage with a serious amount of luck.
Arlathan? Elven legend, that conviniently disapears completly (Arlathan sunk into the earth and their immortality
can't really be proven anymore..). It is obviously a lie to make humans look evil u_u
You can continue the list, so it is highly doubtful that we will get proof of the operation black city that goes further then
the ramblings of a half-mad darkspawn (which goes to far for me tbh =P)
