I'm having problems with some of my models fading from view very quickly. One, fhe_fence02_0, is not so bad because its just a small fence and I can accept that. However, I'm having a huge problem with fve_windmill_0. It's a huge windmill, and it fades from view faster than something like a cart. It fades faster than its own blade, in fact. The other windmill, fhec_windmillbody_0, can be seen way off in the distance. How can I make fve_windmill_0 draw from further away?

It might be worth mentioning that I get a warning that "Model 'fve_windmill_0' is missing lightmaps on one or more parts," though the lighting looks fine to me.

that is because the fve_windmill_0 has no low lod model. at least i guess so - got no toolset right now. how to add a low lod model (you could try to extract the low model from the other windmill model, rename it and place it into the override folder. perhaps then you could select this model within the toolset or enter the model name in the appropriate field) or to change the draw distance i don't know.

You are in fact correct, there is no low LOD model set. I have since noticed that there is an option in the object inspector for models to 'Use High LOD', which sets the model to display the high LOD version at any distance. This is very useful for things like fires, which can be seen from a long way away but have no low LOD model.

this option affects the draw distance of an object?

Yes. It makes the high LOD model display at any distance.

EDIT: Actually, this does not work. I'm not sure whether it worked before or if I was mistaken.

From what I've seen, it hasn't worked to begin with. Same with the Fade Cutaway option.

Yup. Fade Cutaway is broken. I cant see my waterfall from a distance. I can see things like plants from far, but no particle effects work. The most frustrating part about this is that the programmers' coded LONG distance viewing inside the toolset's viewing window, but not in the game....Plus inside the game, it appears that after i move beyond 30 feet, the waterfall particle generator disappears. Anyone know a fix to this yet?

I just checked out redcliff and the waterfall there has the exact same viewing distance as our mods do. So it looks like our problem is not gona change anytime soon. We will all have to hide this problem with alot of trees or something.......
