Pick up the recently remastered Blu-ray of the original movie (which looks great, too).  

It comes with free theater money to see it.

Even childish stories may have some really tragic moments. Well, and personally, I don't find the original cop and Robocop very well performed. But I believe new ones were performed just perfectly.

Definitely. Much better.

I would say that compared to Robocop (2014) the original movie was just a so-so action.

It's almost exactly the same. Litterally nothing changed except for it being made in more modern cameras.

"One of the best sci-fi films of all time" is stretching the meaning of C-rate by a whole lot, buddy. At best, it's an action flick, and at worst it was the same movie, only with dumber lines and a desire for guns that I just don't share. The only thing that even made this HD version of it worth watching was Samuel Jackson's standard character.

Like a lot of work by Verhoeven, and by Peter Weller, the original was camp with a conscience. It had a valid and well-executed point to what it was doing, but it was unafraid to revel in the camp sensibility of contemporary action films (by which I mean the 1980's.) The important thing to remember is that it stood up very well to most films of its type. It was funny, smart and well-made. Even the effects were good by the standards of the day.

I suppose it's possible that the new one could accomplish those things, and I may get around to watching it, for the sake of finding out, but I don't think it's very likely.

Well, re-makes not always have to be worse than originals. I'm sure you will enjoy watching Robocop (2014), if you are a fan of sci-fi dramas. The movie will not remind you original Robocop much. More likely it will remind you DE:HR and Ghost in the Shell.

The only recent remake better then the original in my opinion was Judge Dredd and that was mostly because they ditched rocky and went with an actor who can actually pull off the role somewhat better then a slab of beef.

I was surprised by how much better it was than the orignal film. The lack of Rob Schneider greatly increased this film's quality.

However, the new film doesn't have the campy charm of the old film, which mainly came in the form of "I am the LAW!"

I think I caught on to the mindset. When something is visually stunning, ignoring and being oblivious to everyone thing - it is a masterpiece in it's genre, am I doing it right?

I don't think it's even right to consider the new Dredd to be a "remake", since it's more in line with the source material and shares almost nothing in common with Stallone's film. Plus:

Haven't seen the movie, but my thoughts are that the new remake has potential.

The original films were excellent done by being dark satire, commenting on society and its decay, both moral and legal. Yet it was highly surreal in the whole "The Warriors" type reality, where criminals and gangs run the cities of the U.S. Good film, but silly commentary. Again, dark satire.

The premise of the new movie (from my impressions of the trailers) is that they are posing an actual reality that could happen, if the technology were to catch up. America's policing of the world has created a market for privatized police forces and companies are able to make a killing introducing robotic installations of these forces. In an attempt to break into the Westernized market (which Samuel L Jackson calls "robo-phobic"), they create a hybrid of human cop and robotic machine.

The movie may fall flat on its face, but its premise of taking a real life analogue and applying an advanced technology shader to it is, to me, really interesting. It may wind up being a pure action film with nothing of note to say, but, again... the very premise of the plot is something I enjoy, simply because it moves out of the real of complete impossibility into the realm of reality with elements of science fiction technology.
