I just don't like it if that's all someone is doing, and I mean just that. I've seen randoms barely even fire their weapons at all and only detonate the mine as soon as it's primed.

I don't care that people recon mine spam. As long as it's not missile glitching then I'm fine with. I run geth scanner almost exclusively now so the smoke of the mines isn't an issue...

Nothing in this game blocks MY view especially something that reveals enemies and has a 2 second poof of smoke. IF you have the required situational awareness you already know where the enemy is going b4 they detonate it. If you don't then obviously you need to study enemy movement more.... not to mention it's not difficult to shoot through smoke  and  hit whats inside it/behind it. I shoot atlases and centurions with nothing to help me see through the smoke all the time and that smoke lasts a whole lot longer than  RM could ever dream of.

woah, such a badass, please give me your eyes and your amazing skills of shooting Atlases through smoke walls.

there are plenty of players who moan and complain about getting headaches  because of this or that in this game, yet they still play knowing the outcome... and they just expect everyone to   only play things that don't annoy them or isn't OP.  It's hilarious to me and yeah i poke fun at it, hate it if u wish it only entertains me that much more

The more you try to work with PUGS rather than shine on your own, the more the PUGs tie your hands and get you stuck in a pickle.

I'm not dogging the PUGs - heck, I'm a PUGger too. But I prefer to play my way, and not what will work better with someone else. These people always die or bleed out or become banshee chow or phantom pincushions and leave you at a disadvantage.

As for Recon Mine spammers - they are a darn sight better than trip mine spamming.

Honesty.  50% DR for six seconds.  On first attacking a spawn it can be the difference between wiping it out or getting downed when there's 3+ guns shooting back.

I get the annoyance with Shield spamming PUGs as they're likely not contributing any other way, but any other little additional complaints about Shield Boost are stupid and overexaggerated.  It's another issue of poor players exhibiting poor gameplay, not the power itself (lolBioticSlash).

Don't care if anybody agrees or not with the DR thing, doesn't make it less true.  That and I don't want to derail this thread about Recon Mine so I'm shutting up about this whole conversation.

To be honest, I'm not sure why anyone complains about any power spammer (visual problems aside). People can play whatever they want and have fun with it. It's just a game after all. If someone doesn't like the playstyle of the players they're playing with, leave the lobby or kick. Simple.

This, and when it comes to visual obstructions like RM or the flamer, why are ya'll clustered together. This for me. I don't mind it, but it just always seems like it blows up in my face every time that it is detonated. As if the only time this person bothers to detonate it is when a teammate is running past the thing. Which after the 4th or 5th time ceases to be funny anymore.

But I suppose that should teach me to run around the things rather than through them. Just like the Reactor when it's the Hazard variety.

The power itself is bugged, and can prevent you from using powers or weapons until you heavy melee.  When somebody spams it enough that it locks your weapons multiple times in a single wave, well, that's a problem.

Recon mine does not bother me. The only power spam I find really annoying is being adopted by a shield boost spamming volus.
