Oh, don't get me wrong. I don't hate on the character, but everytime his character is requested as a companion, it's followed by being able to romance him. So I would just find it highly amusing if they only gave us the former option, just  to spite of all the threads asking for it. xD

I know people want him to be, and as much as I'd like to see a dwarf romance, I don't think we'll see it in Varric as he already has someone near and dear to his heart... and I don't mean his crossbow.

Well, it's true. I mean think about it, would you really like to see them break that?  At least some of the characters keep some consistency. I mean, what about those of us who romanced Morrigan? We know she's definitely in this, even if not a party member. Would you like to see her cheat with your new hero?

I think if they were going to do something to spite people it would be to add Cullen as a required and unkillable companion who is a bisexual romance option and incessantly hits on the player. There are waaaaaay more posts and threads bashing Cullen fangirls or the character Cullen than there are threads started by Cullen fangirls asking to romance him. All the haters would blow a gasket.

I think the trouble with that is that it would be a little out of character for Cullen to do that, unfortunately. Were they to have him romanceable however, were he only a male option, that would still be funny in my books.

I can see your point. But how do we know that Bianca still has feelings for Varric? Or vice versa? I know I'm probably looking into this way too much but I have to have something to hope for. Let this poor girl dream.
