I have the CE, but tonight after playing and finding that the Disc 2 was becoming unreadable -- I opened the tray only to find that the entire disc was cracked from the center to the outer edge!

I'm shocked. Not sure what happened .. but of course I want to replace it somehow. Disc 1 still works, so it's not a HDD issue, I think ..

The CE edition is $63 or so on Amazon while the standard edition is only $17. I know that the CE comes with digital codes and extra goodies, but as far as the discs are concerned .. there wouldn't be anything different if I bought the Standard Edition yet kept all the codes from the CE, correct? The 360 wouldn't know the difference with my saves, right?

Thanks!

I can't possibly think how that would be a problem. I've never heard of a game that had a CE disc that was different from the standard version. The game should still be pulling from the same data and shouldn't be coded any different than a CE edition. As far as CE codes go, they should still work with the standard edition unless they did something stupid like only put the information for the CE items on the CE discs, which I highly doubt they'd do.

Hopefully someone with experience in the matter comes along and gives you a better answer, but I find it highly unlikely.

AUCH.

I can't assure is this way. But I know that feeling, bro.

That's why I use my collector editions as few as posible...

Crunches are a very legit reason to cry during days.

Before you go spending money, ide get onto EA CS & see if they'll replace the disc, as i managed to get a Crysis disc replaced after it developed a fault similar to yours, after all you have nothing to lose by trying other than a bit of time and effort.

Thanks everyone, it sucks but it happens. First time for me though. At least I can still finish my current playthough as it only needs Disc 1 at the end!

Thank you! I'll give that a try. Can you give me a link to where I can talk to one? Is it a Live Chat or email? I am on the EA site and Origin and I can't seem to find a place for their CS ..

EDIT: Found it. Wait time 45-50 minutes for a Live Chat. Worth a shot!

EDIT #2: First experience with EA CS -- got into a chat with them after 30 minutes or so, I made my case, they didn't respond at all .. then after 10 minutes of waiting for their response, they send me an email that they closed my case, haha. Didn't even say anything. Trying again.

EDIT #3: Got in touch with someone, they referred me to the warranty and replacement page, and it's $20 to replace the disc. $16 to get a new Standard Edition from Amazon, so I'll just go that route and swap the discs into the CE case. Oh well.

Have you tried reading the manual? I don't have it for ME3 (digital only thanks to Game ****ing up preorders) but ME1's manual has this:

Returns AFter Warranty
EA will replace user-damaged media, current socks allowing, if the original media is returned with a cheque or postal order for £7.50 per disk payable to EA Ltd...

Sorry to hear they will charge for replacements, but I would suggest keeping the disks out of the CE case because that was known to break disks for the fit was a little tight.

Sorry to hear that. If I had a spare CE disc I would give you one myself. I've had a disc crack in the past, not a fun experience.

It is a pain getting the discs out of the CE steelbook in 3, and even harder to get them out of the ME2 CE steelbook. This was why I eventually got the Trilogy set, so the discs would forever stay in the steelbook and not risk breaking anymore.
