So, we know we will have (spoiler) Varric, Cassandra, and Vivienne. Some people are speculating we will also have Cullen.

Do we know anything else? When will Bioware release information on the rest of our companions?

No need for spoiler tag when the game hasn't been released but no, no word on any other companions. But, if you look at all the concept art, you can get a good idea of the companion makeup. A male qunari named Iron Bull, a female elf rogue, a male elf mage, a male Grey Warden. And the wiki says someone from Asunder is supposed to be a companion in this game, who is that, we don't know, but I hope ,if it's true, that it is Adrian or Rhys. Im also hoping for Charade Amell as a companion and LI, but that is wishful thinking there.

Interesting. It sounds like we do actually have more leads as to who the other companions may be. I've heard Cullen and I've heard Cole, and both make sense to me. And the concept art looks interesting, but it'd still be nice to know who these characters actually are! I guess we'll just have to be patient.

Cullen isn't yet confirmed but there's a 95% chance he is a companion.

He was in Asunder, and he was in the survey, but that's not really much in the lines of a confirmation. It's very possible that people didn't respond well to him in the survey. Even if they did respond well, the devs could've decided against him for another reason.

Oh dear God, no. I know I'm probably going to get so much rage for this but I sincerely hope that Cullen isn't a companion nor a romance option. But I can tolerate him being an agent of some sort, if Bioware truly wants him to be in the game.

Cole is a demon, who I think was originally a (good)spirit. He possessed a boy named Cole and the boy was killed by the Templars. So the demon then thought it was the ghost of the kid. and later figured out that he's a spirit.

Oh dear God, no. I know I'm probably going to get so much rage for this but I sincerely hope that Cullen isn't a companion nor a romance option. But I can tolerate him being an agent of some sort, if Bioware truly wants him to be in the game.

The survey means next to nothing, not everyone in it was a companion and some of them may not exist anymore or have changed significantly

Also the person who's from Asunder may or may not be a companion since they weren't to specific beyond that and there might be more than one character from there though they won't reveal anymore than that yet.

Cole is a spirit who uses blood magic which would probably make him a mage, he may or may not be a companion or he maybe be a dlc one we really don't know yet, and we aren't sure what the tear will do to him.

As for who might be the other one's, so far it looks like the blonde female elf is the most likely one, followed by Iron Bull, the old grey warden with beard, bald elven mage, Cullen, and probably a female character.

It's still way to early to tell who they are but there might be some hints but only time will tell.

I just... don't want him as a companion. I feel like him and Cassandra would be too similar. I need a character that will pull me in the first moment I see them like Iron Bull or, heck, even Varric's story has me craving to know more. But I know I'm probably a minority, especially with the female fan base, that would like to keep Cullen out of full companionship.

But Cullen is a Templar. Imagine the conflict and clashing of opinions with the mages of the group. Does that not interest you when big decisions arise?

There is a picture with a grey elf mage looking person but don't have a name it is the background on dragon age official website to the left of it is the word media if you go into gallery. The elf is right of the center character which is not Varric because they have a sword not Bianca. Also another mage in all black I do have a name Dorian from the leak. Perhaps someone else has more info on the grey elf looking humanoid. These two are possible companions and would account for 3 mages.


To directly answer the OP at this time we do not know anymore then the devs are willing to provide. 

However, from the images we are given we could speculate to are hearts content as long as we do not say these things are facts and incorporate them as expectations.

Not really. If my Inquisitor wants to get scolded on her actions I'll have Cassandra do it. But I can see where your coming from. I just don't see the appeal personally.

I just got info from Mike Laidlaw on Twitter, he answer my question, they've written out all the companions and have their apperance down, they just have a few lingering details. So this means all the companions are ready to show and are finalized, we just have to wait and see.

I don't know it could be just about anyone, Scribe Girl, Leliana, Sigrun, a female dwarf, a female elf, a rogue, a female warrior that depends on whether or not Cullen is a companion, a bard, a npc from DAO who got the Isabella treatment, a qunari female, shrug who knows but I doubt it's Charde Amell and some of them could be very unlikely.

As they are finished writing we might see them sometime in the next few months or less though not sure when that might be

I'd be cool with Leliana. Who is this Scribe girl? Don't want Sigrun again. I really would like Charade to be a companion and LI, if not her then Yavana, I would love another Witch of the Wilds as a companion.

This thread pops up quite a bit, but I'm not complaining! On the scribe girl, I don't think she's a "fighting" companion, but something more like a seneschal or advisor. I'm hoping we have a lots of Inquisition members that don't join us on "expeditions" but are still very much part of the story (like Joker in Mass Effect). We've seen Dagna mentioned, and I think that's a great pick for a researcher/enchanter.

I hope Cole is a companion if only so I can learn more about him and what he is. He appears to be a a spirit, he might be using blood magic (though that's debatable, I think he kills because that is an expression of what he is, a spirit of mercy), and he was able to actually "see" the call of the Old Gods affecting darkspawn. I just want to be able to get to the bottom of that character.

Cole just seems like a mystery to me. Demon, Ghost, Human, undead? What is he?
