Well, they aren't confirmed by the developers( from what i know), but since we have "seen" these two on the art work, the gameplay demo as you say, and even the survey ( if we can count that one). Since we not completely stupid ,   i would say that they are "confirmed" aswell. They could say that they are place holders or something, but i doubt anyone would belive that , (why put effort into something if it's not going to be in the game). 
But until they say "yes they are in the game", we won't ever know for sure though...

I'd agree with the Lady, it appears more like a trident.
As well, on closer study, it does look more like he's wearing a toga over a uniform.
Which is awfully similar to what the Elf mage wears in most of his concept art.

If one were to extrapolate on this: it's quite possible that the Chevalier and Elf mage split into two different
character designs after the 'survey art' was created. Given the appearence of both in the same concept art.

Yeah I had forgotten about that although someone already confirmed on here that the elf ain't Dorian and that some of the people in the war room are not companions. In fact I think they may have even said several. 



So we know the scribe girl isn't and we know Varric and Cass are, so that leaves the elf, the robed guy, someone who looks like Cullen and someone who looks like Leliana. 

As i said my theory is that Dorian is out and that Lelianna was never a companion but I really have no idea. 

I expect to be wrong about some of them at least. I have no idea if the robed guy is dorian or not he could be anyone tbh.

Showing and Inquisitor/Viv a balled headed companion who looks like the elf but it's not that clear and a companion in heavy Armour.

Yes it's funny, especially cassandra's face. I wonder what their relationship will be like? I might have to have them both in my party allot

I've noticed Bioware are good at female rivalry frienships. Morrigan and leliana, Isabela and Aveline and Miranda and Jack.

I very much doubt Lelianna will be a companion but she probably will have a major part to play in the storyline as the Divine's representative and gobetween. She may even be possible to recruit as an agent.

Please let not the mage be Adrian. I couldn't stand her in Asunder and she would be too much like a more violent female version of Anders. In any case we already have a female mage in Vivienne, so I'd really like to see the male elf mage, preferably not bald, stay as a companion since we have not yet had a male elf companion. Of course there is no real reason why a Grey Warden shouldn't be a mage rather than a warrior.

If we were to have another female mage then I would find it far more interesting if she was one of the Rivanni wise women that we have heard about. This would mean she would come from a totally different tradition to those we have already encountered and could be given some unique powers.

Gaider hinted at the former and confirmed the latter one which I posted on the previous page. 

That's definitely the bald elf and it seems like his signature style will be a single or dual fur lined collar as he's always been shown with it.

He isn't a mage and there's 2 or 3 big problems with that the first is that yes that's somekind of spear/javelin/ normal non mage staff, the second is that he appears to be dual wielding and using a sword which he is reaching for with his left hand.

The grip, hilt and part of the sheath are visible also that's not a mage robe rather it's armour and he appears to be wearing some kind of sash, or togga or something on his right side from his collar down only as his left leg is completely free.

This person may have changed or been scrapped or never was a companion in the first place.

You forgot about Blonde Elf Girl.

She appears in concept art, in-game footage, and has a confirmed writer (Lukas Kristjanson).

I think he is probably one of the agents rather than a companion. I think that is going to be Leliana's role as well.

I still believe he is a companion so I guess we have to agree to disagree, also this is a bit off topic but I think agents are nothing more than a nameless resource and people are getting their hopes up expecting it to be much more than that.

I've noticed Bioware are good at female rivalry frienships. Morrigan and leliana, Isabela and Aveline and Miranda and Jack. 

And going way back is Bastila and Mission from KOTOR. I loved having those two with me not just because of them individually, but their play on each other, like when Mission was pushing Basyila's buttons so she uses the Force to trip Mission. 

Come to think of it, I can see Cassandra and 'Sera' having that kind of relationship, with Cassandra being the Bastila as in all serious about their duty and 'Sera' as Mission who is more a free spirit.

I can imagine the romance being about him having feelings for someone for the first time, or something.
I reeeeally don't think he will be a LI but if he is I will be super suprised, in a good way.

Not sure if he's going to be a companion, but he definitely won't be a LI.  Gaider recently made a post on BSN (or a tweet, I can't remember which) where he responded to this very concept with a statement to the effect of, "You know that Cole effectively has the mental capacity of a child, right?"

So whether he's even in the game or not, we can continue to debate, but if he's an LI, that's pretty much been confirmed as a no.
