Given this, I'd say the last companion will likely be a female DLC character, perhaps a mage.

As we could consider for a moment that the last two games had ginger haired female companions-
One a rogue, one a warrior. It could well be possible they're going to finalize this tradition with a mage.

That could be Adrian, mage, red hair, returning character from Asunder.

I highly doubt that's Adrian

Dream about romancing a spirit with the mind of child, basically meaning that he is a child?

Sure, I guess :?

He isn't a mage and there's 2 or 3 big problems with that the first is that yes that's somekind of spear/javelin/ normal non mage staff, the second is that he appears to be dual wielding and using a sword which he is reaching for with his left hand.

The grip, hilt and part of the sheath are visible also that's not a mage robe rather it's armour and he appears to be wearing some kind of sash, or togga or something on his right side from his collar down only as his left leg is completely free.

This person may have changed or been scrapped or never was a companion in the first place.

He is not reaching for a sword he is holding up a yin yang like talisman.

He is pictured here again so they clearly did not scrap him, also you can see he is not wearing armor.

I think he is probably one of the agents rather than a companion. I think that is going to be Leliana's role as well.

I still believe he is a companion so I guess we have to agree to disagree, also this is a bit off topic but I think agents are nothing more than a nameless resource and people are getting their hopes up expecting it to be much more than that.

I thought Dagna was meant to be an agent?

As for the trident guy well idk if he is Dorian or not but it's just my opinion based on some comments that some made that dorian has been scrapped.

We don't know when these descisions were made though or when these pieces of concept art were drawn so they prove nothing.

Does anyone remember the black mohawk elf girl that was originally planned for DA2?

I wonder if she and Blonde Elf Girl are related.

Here.

...you know that Cole is functionally a child, right?

eluvianix wrote...How old was the "real Cole" when he died? Mid teenage years or younger?

David Gaider
What does that matter? Physically, Cole is an adult. Mentally, he is not. He does not understand sex, much as a child would not, and this is explicitly stated in the book.

Yeah, one should not really equate naiveté (or whatever other personality characteristics you consider immature) with Cole. It's explicitly stated that Cole sees people in the tower having sex, and doesn't understand it--there's no concept of arousal, not to mention the social under-development he otherwise displays.
If that doesn't impact you, and you really think you could "teach" him to understand these things... ummm, okay. Shine on, you crazy diamonds

They may be the same character just an earlier version of her since it looked like she had green hair at some point, and she's probably one of the one's who Gaider said have changed significantly.

A talisman no, you can see what looks to be the guards of the sword one is going behind his hand but you can still see it, the other is clearly visible and his arm is bent due to him reaching back and his hand is on the hilt (you can see the pommel up top) and looks to be pulling it out of the sheath which is black.

Also that spear may be a type of 3 pronged spear called a Dangpa, it's korean spear sort of like a trident.

They're 2 different outfits, you can cleary see that it's armour not clothing but that still doesn't mean they are the same charracter even if they are he may have changed completely and doesn't mean he was ever a companion nor is there a lot supporting him being one.

Eiether way he's not a mage.

Yeah, I don't remember exactly where it was either.  I'm actually pretty bad at that.  I remember what was said, but can't ever remember where it was said.  That's why I normally post things that qualifier and then rely on good people, like you, who don't mind doing the leg work to support the statement.

This wasn't all that long ago, though.  Maybe two months at most.  Seems like others remember as well.

Yeah I thought that. It could be a new version of that charater.

Looks a bit more like the elf in the DA2 concepts. It could be that this character has had many incarnations or it could just be a completly new character and this is just a different elf.

Oh, I forgot about this pic. Now I really hope she's in the game (as a separate character from "Sera").

the game is still in devloppement, i dont see why they would do a dlc character before even finish the game ...

Shale in Origins was meant to be in the main game, but had to be added later.  She was cut for time, and the devs added Haven to have the intro.  Originally, the golem was going to be in Redcliffe and accessable from the vanilla game.

In DA2, I believe the same was done for Sebastian, which is part of the reason why his character arc is pretty damned short.  The writing and dev teams are probably working on several characters for Inquistion, including ones that might end up as DLC.

exactly he was meant to be in the main game... it was not a dlc character done before the main game was even finish.. he was added to a dlc because they was short on time,,,

Uh.....look at Shale, Sebastian, Kasumi, Zaeed, and Javik. They were all developed and then cut from their respective base games to be bought separately as DLC.

and what did they said about sebastian, that the caracther was made after the game gone gold,,,that he was created after the game was done... i just dont see the logic,,, in making a dlc character now, since the game is not finished yet, it would be a lost of ressource and im sure that every companions that have been made by now is because they are meant to be in the main game ,but they might finish in a dlc if they are short of time

DA2 went gold on February 11, 2011. It, along with the (day one) DLCs The Exiled Prince and The Black Emporium, were released on March 8, 2011.

They already developed most of the character and his storyline.

Expect a day one DLC character for DAI.

Shale's a she.  C'mon, give a girl a break.  Her figure might not be the most feminine, but she was a gal before becoming a golem.  Either "she" or "it", but definitely not "he".  ;)

Don't Games usually go gold like not long at all before release?

Plus I didn't ever say that they already had a dlc character written I am just not against them adding one as long as it's an extra character and not one of the nine.

It doesn't matter. Inquisition WILL have a DLC character.

Exclusivity is probably the best way to entice people to pre-order.

They probably meant they added him  in after they had finished writing the story and all the characters.

its exactly what im trying to say, they worked on sebastian after the main game was done! so i dont think that bioware would work on a dlc character now, if they havent finished the main game .. im not saying that any of the character wont end up being in a dlc, im saying that if its end up like that its not planned!

Not what I meant though, there is still stuff to do after the story is sorted. I guess some games are more or less done before launch and in that time the devs would be testing it, fixing bugs ect.

Games typically go gold a few weeks to a month prior to release. It takes much longer than that to conceptualize, design, cast, bug test, etc. a character.

And look at every recent BioWare game. DLC characters are common practice at this point. It is planned.

@Mikey Yep. For example, the reason why Shale was delayed was due to her model. They had trouble fitting her through doorways and such. They weren't able to work out that issue in time for the initial launch of Origins.

From what I read, that's the reason why Shale (in one of her conversations) mentions that she was chiseled down to fit through doors. A bit of meta-humor reflecting the troubles the devs had with her model.
