"Dorian IS the moustache guy with the robes and staff/spear, probably is from Tevinter. Does he even look like a Chevalier to anyone, he's got Mage Robes" On survey he has sword. He is warrior.

On survey he has non sword, he has a type of trident, which could be a type of bladed staff.

If you are looking more carefully you will see that he has sword on his back.

Thats not a sword its part of the staff, the man is holding up a yin yang like talisman not reaching for a sword and for gods sake if that is a spear, trident or whatever you want to call it, do you really think BioWare would reveal a completely new weapon skill tree for warriors or rogues in a marketing survey where they do not even mention said weapon skill tree!

Sigh yes that it is a sword( pommel, guards, hilt, sheath, part of the blade is visible and the black of the sheath and color of the blade is fooling you) and no it's not part of the "staff or a yin yang talisman which is much different than that, the left or right side would white or black then the opposite is the other color with a black dot on the white side and white one the black one, not sure why you think it's talisman or even a yin yang like one and that would be a weird looking one.

Also that's either a trident or a dangpa and they may have been planning to bring dual wielding warriors back when this survey was leaked. If not then this guy is just an npc who works with us and has a unique fighting style that they wanted to show off and him having those weapons means next to nothing if he was never a companion in the first place and just an npc.

Look his presence in the survey and in the war room concept is not a guarantee of anything and pretty much means nothing, because again not everyone in them is a companion and there isn't really anything indicating that he was or still is one, since we haven't really seen him in anything but them.  Also if one of the devs wasn't messing with us when he said he had no idea who he was then well he may not be in the game or may not be very important.

You have to remember both of them a very old and probably very outdated by now.

David Gaider

I'm not going to say whether she's a companion, or if she's even still in DAI. Not every character mentioned in that survey was a companion, and some of them either no longer exist or have changed signficantly. Hence why I have said before not to hold it up as gospel-- you may be very disappointed.

DA:I - War Room

Oh, yay! Matt posted the entire thing! This has been one of my desktop backgrounds for ages ever since it was done (even if it’s a wee bit out of date by now).

I laugh every time I see someone suggesting the fellow on the left (next to Cassandra) is saying “That is mahogany!” …that is, in fact, the very first thing Mary and Sheryl and I joked when we saw this image, though we thought it was the woman on the right (with the black hair and the bun).

Just add a gasp! onto the front. :)

EDIT: I see people assuming that everyone pictured here (other than the Inquisitor, obviously) are party members. HAHA WRROONNG! Many of them are not. And the woman behind the Inquisitor is not Vivienne, either.

Try again, suckers. :P #meangirl

He may have been scrapped for all we know, or is just not a companion.

It seems as if the companions are already chosen, I just hope they have really intriguing fleshed out stories.

I kinda wish Varric was never a companion because we already had him for DA2, I would've loved a new companion in his place, oh well I am sure bioware has their reasons for this.

I'm curious about Varric's involvement as a repeat companion myself. I do hope that the reasoning behind him returning is good, but I can't help but suspect that maybe he and Bianca were well received enough that he gets another round in the series. I hope I'm wrong. Part of me wants to get more Varric in a game, but the rest of me was rather attached to his relationship to Hawke, which admittedly makes establishing a new comaraderie with him a little weird. Makes me wonder if there's going to be substantial banter regarding his adventures with the Champion.

I will wait until we get a confirmation from BioWare on companion possabilities. As of right now there is no rush to find out who will be joining you or not. Come April/May well know more for sure.

I do wonder why they haven´t released more information. I read somewhere that we where suppose to know the companions by Valentine.

Btw, when is the release date?

That was more of a cute idea that would've been a nice thing to do if they were ready to do so but it wasn't confirmed that they were going to do so.

They actually just finished writing them recently, so we should be getting some information at some point soon, maybe the dev diaries have some information or they'll tweet it.

As for the release date, it still doesn't have one but it's still on track for the fall release window according to Laidlaw.

I'm curious if any of the known (or suspected) companions will end up as DLC.

Do you think that Sten, Wynne or Oghren are 'pinnacle of hotness'? Do you think that every companions in DA2 were pinnacle of hotness?

No, we don't know who the LIs are.

I'd guess Sera is probably fairly likely though.

I have a good feeling that Cullen would be a companion. Why?
Simple. The Game needs a human male romance.
The Grey Warden and the Mustage Guy aren´t that young to fit in the classic
Bioware human male romance type.

Last but not least just a thought.
Maybe this Sera character is Briala from the novel The Masked Empire.

I woudn't know how old the moustache guy is, but Cullen isn't that young. If he was 20 in DAO, he's 31 now. And I think he was a bit older in DAO (23-24 years old).

Why does every LI have to be young? When did that become a requirement?

I see no reason why there couldn't be a middle-aged LI.

I agree. For the record, in DAI most of the characters rumoured seems to be over 30 years old. Sera and Cole are the only  young rumoured/confirmed companion

About Mustache Guy, I've always thought he would end up being a companion because of this picture:

Posted Image

It's taken from this Game Informer video from last summer, around 5:59, buried in the bottom right corner.

Could be wrong, but I feel like the more concepts there are the stronger the argument that can be made for a character being a follower.  Additionally, he appears to be at a forge, which I think lends itself to the interpretation that he'll be another warrior or rogue.

I am still praying to Thuunir, Caesar and Mars that Cole DOES not make it into the game as a companion.

._. I am literally going to execute that fop the moment he appears before my inquisitor like the first...fifteen or so playthroughs in the game because i despise the character as it stands now.

Assuming the game will let you kill him and not simply send him off.

He doesn't deserve to be in game!

He's the most annoyingly trite character in DA.

...And i am including Flemeth in that.

@Master Warder Z: that's your opinion. There are people who believe the opposite. Bioware might believe the opposite.

If you ever played awakening, Remember in the Black Marsh, Justice put some type of blessing on your weapons to help close the veil that torn. If Cole is a ghost, this would be perfect sense because that's all what your doing in the Inquisitor is closing the veil through out thedas. Only a Spirit or Demon can close the veil.

Plus, the argument that the male LI's are always young in Bioware games is flawed.

Sky in JE is a widower who lost his 5 year old daughter several years prior to the game taking place
Carth in KOTOR is in his mid 30's and has a teen aged son
Kaidan in ME and ME 3 is likely in his mid 30's (he was a teen ager 18 years prior to the events of ME 3)
Thane in ME 2 and ME 3 is middle aged with an adult son

I don't see why the Grey Warden would be too old to be a romance.  He looks like he's anywhere from mid-30's through 40's, so he would be on the older side, but certainly not an anomaly.  Now, his calling is a different story, however.  The moustached gentleman could be anywhere in his late 20's through mid 40's based on some of the concept art.  That's right in the range of the guys I mentioned above.  Finally, as others have pointed out, Cullen is no spring chicken either.  He's got to be in his mid 30's by now.

I agree that LIs don't have to all be 21. Carth was 38 I believe.

But I don't think the Grey warden will be a LI. LIs have been more... traditionally handsome in the past and the Grey warden has a bushy beard riddled with gray. I know some find him attractive but still... if you put him against Carth, Kaidan, Alistair, Zevran, Fenris... I don't think he has "the look"Posted Image

This is one thing that is in favour of Cullen being a companion imo. There'll be at least 2 male LIs and so far we haven't seen any really handsome companions.
