Ties/bowties.
Ties were originally used as a convenient means to always have a napkin (like a cape was a convenient means to carry around a blanket) that was eventually made into an aesthetic thing.
I did not know that, but I should have expected it once had a practical purpose besides a fashion accessory. Now they are just a pointless and uncomfortable accessory in my opinion. I have not worn a tie since I was 3/4 years old.
I wear a Tie both casually and formally.
Or a scarf. Depends on my mood. Sometimes both.

It must be a fashion trend amongst kids a few years-several years younger than me. I believe I have seen my brother wear them like that casually before. For me, I am apathetic towards fashion in general as I wear what I feel comfortable with.

What about using a different kind of toilette when you don't sit on nothing?
We call the kind I mentioned on my first comment the oldsters toilette. Using this won't hurt you 4 times a day, 4 minutes each or even less:
That type of toilet will not work for me at all.

This thread and the people's silly and useless comments in it which have not served anyone in anyway, nor will serve the betterment of humanity, society, oneself or this site. I predict a lock-down very soon. What I say has weight for this will come to fruition based on the three trolls I've encountered already (excluding myself) attempting to cite flame wars in this thread based on religion and politics and therefore my comment is actually valid. The flame war in this thread is inevitable. When it gets locked, I win.

Expensive. Noisy, Unclean. Nuke your face forever and it's still not a perfect shave.
Why? For Chr'sakes, why, why?
Compare that to the preceding Gillette safety razor. A perfect shaving tool.
Because it's simple and easy

But I will agree, there is a useless sword that was made Neo.
The German Zweihander.
Too big and too heavy to be of any actual use.
And it's main use was to take out Pike formations, which could be taken out by far more efficient means.
Single handedly the worst Greatsword ever invented.
You know nothing.
Best sword ever.

Religion
I'm afraid that doesn't qualify.
We're not allowed to discuss religious matters here, but without even doing that, I would argue very strongly that it's highly obvious that religion is quite useful for a variety of things, regardless if you're a believer or not.
That some atheists find it useless from their perspective doesn't mean that it's useless for all atheists. Some examples, just to make this clear: Motivation, excuse, justification, norm, scapegoat.

The knowledge base is different today. But then again, - maybe not. While it seems very weird today that people would think it logical that radioactivity should be "healthy", a lot of people, educated and not, believe a lot of weird things today too.

The fossil fuel industry actually played an enormous role in promoting these technologies as a means to distract environmentalists from the fact that nuclear power was the only power source that ever had the potential to stop climate change. You know what we need? We need a chemical reaction to fix carbon (from CO2 of course) in the atmosphere. Nothing else is going to "stop" climate change. It's all a cycle, and the only problem we're having is that we don't have a way to convert it back to a liquid or solid (just as long as it's not in the atmosphere).bobobo878 wrote...
