Just checked it. It actually says there there were rumors of such things in the lands surrounding the Dales, but the chantry never claimed such things were happening. It comes from the Chantry version of the fall of the Dales, which you can read in the codex entry from a non-Dalish Warden.
Uneven Presentation of the mage-templar conflict

I'd like to see more revealed about Gaspard the man seems pretty interesting thus far but given we know little beyond a fraction of his backstory and his ambition to be emperor i'd can't say if i'd support him or no.
Indeed. Hopefully he is better than the other Gasgard we met so far.
The CE actually seems to be on Gaspard's side.
The Masked Empire summary implied that the dalish will have a role in the OCW (it nominated both the city elves and dalish). I'm not saying that they'll be on opposite sides, but I wouldn't discount the possibility.
That's why I said AGAINST Celene. ![]()

The out of character intro to the book says "Although written from an in universe perspective, the main text is one objective voice."
..That happen to ignore anything the dalish said about said events.....

The fact that it's brought up in their historical account suggests that they are painting the elves as villainous.

I'm not surprised Genitivi's accounts in WoT gloss over the Dalish perspective. This is the same priest who said that humanity are the rightful masters of Thedas when addressing the conclusion of the New Exalted Marches (which is incredibly racist), and uses language in his writings that looks down on non-Andrastians and their beliefs (like the codex that reads how the Dalish follow the Creators, as opposed to the Maker).

It does not gloss over the Dalish perspective and even if it did, it doesn't matter. Genetivi didn't break the fourth wall and write that he was an objective voice at the beginning.

While I understand your point, WoT's intro still specify that the events are narrated objectively, so while his codex entries in the games could be questioned for his possible bias, I wouldn't do the same for the book. The book and the codex entries were not written under the same purpose.I'm not surprised Genitivi's accounts in WoT gloss over the Dalish perspective. I have to admit, I thought Nagato should have had a bigger role, but I love Madara as a villain. He just doesn't care and is laid back about the whole thing. When he responds to his battle with the 5 Kage as "Oh, yeah. Them. Yeah...they're not doing so well."

Why? Because you like the Dalish?
Seizing territory after a war to recoup resource lossage during it is a practice that extends back as far as wars have been fought.
And given the Dales are now a relatively occupied Human settlement within Orlais. I can see that they didn't just seize them to seize them; They reoccupied them and used the territory actually.
Actually, humans are leaving the Dales in the wake of the civil war, and the crisis with the Mage-Templar War and the veil tears didn't even start at this point. An elven coup against the occupation of the Dales isn't impossible at this point.
An independent elven kingdom where mages aren't beholden to the Chantry or the templars would present another interesting perspective in the midst of the schism between Lambert's forces and the mages who are fighting for their autonomy.

But to ignore the fact the chantry would never allow anything that makes them look bad to be placed in the history books is logical?
If it were a fact, it would be illogical to ignore that... if it were a fact. It isn't. The Chantry isn't an Orwellian police state that dictates history nor is it a thuggish absolute-dogma religious institution that can't tolerate criticism or even, in the codex of the creation of the Circle, mockery.

I feel that the book does gloss over the Elvhen perspective, and I'm apparently not alone in feeling that the elven perspective is seriously marginalized in the book. It's barely there as it is.

Hmm itachi wasn't stronger than nagato it is stated that pain was strongest member of the akatsuki and it was wog but still madara is stronger
in his last fight he lost because plot required that he took both naruto and killer b without problems and it is explained he was defeated because kabuto caught idiot ball and he wasn't still able to use his legs properly.

Or it could be brought up because such rumors actually existed amongst the peasants, which isn't inconceivable. Common people and many others in the Middle Ages, and a few ignorant people today, believed Jews ate Christian babies. It wasn't the official stance of the Church (And it might surprise people to know that the Church hierarchy actually tried to protect the Jews from the prejudices of the population at several points, not that they were terribly successful. The Pope issued an edict trying to stop the massacre of Jews when they were being accused of spreading the Black Death, pointing out that it made no sense. Rioters killed them anyway). Either way, it certainly isn't the Chantry claiming the Dales did such things. The fact that it's brought up in their historical account suggests that they are painting the elves as villainous.

Frankly, I would have appreciated more information about the Dalish historical account of the Dales, the view of spirits (which was relegated to a single line), the dangers faced by the clans from templars, the clans being different and varied, the marginalization of the Alienage elves - it feels incredibly sparse when it comes to the perspective of the elves, and it almost comes across as intentional when the entire book is written in the perspective of a Chantry priest.
Gracias. ![]()
