You think Cerberus fans were not disappointed?

The way Bioware devs talked about Cerberus in me3 development and templars in DAI development seems vastly different.

You don't think the Red Templars are a little more extreme than Cerberus?

You do realize I'm talking about ME3 cerberus right? Zealots who became machines for "interest of humanity"?.

The way Bioware talked about the conflict, we'll be able to support mages and templars (regardless of the war ends or not in DAI).

And how much we have heard about DA:I exactly? The fact that Templar reputation is ruined is out of the question. People will fear all Templars because of red Templars like they fear all mages because of blood mages.

Didn't Bioware say that Inquisition will show a more human side to both factions, like how DA2 showed the worst?

Off the record: I've no desire for an interesting villain(as I see them)to be downgraded to a mindless beast. I like the templars the way that they are because I hate them so much.

No, I absolutely do have a better grasp and understanding now. With a lot of your statements that I want to oppose are disagree, I find it difficult because we simply do not know the truth. Hopefully in Inquisition we'll get a bit more clarity on everything.

Personally i find that the most appealing aspect of the Templar/Mage Conflict.

The majority of the stances given by both factions are based upon assumption, Faith rather then evidence.

Its a more personalized take i think.

And that may be done via the Chantry loyalists. It's by far the best way to do so.

You say that like Xil would care.

True enough.

But its my reasoning why such a stance wouldn't be taken by them when it came to the Templars.

(They got a lot of negative feedback when they turned Cerberus into cardboard cutout badguys despite them ultimately having some very debatable points)

You'll get to be as pro-Chantry as possible still. No true problem exists because you'll get to uphold the true spirit of the Order and all that garbage.

And you can sing like this:

Oh and it doesn't have to be a full scale cerberus treatment. What if people refuse to allow Templars inside their town? What then? would they murder mundanes?

Check the GI coverage. There's one article and one video about it. It's very interesting, and it puts mages and templars on equal ground a (and not mages and Chantry as someone suggested). Plus, Darrah stated during the PAX demo that the Inquisitor has to find a balance between mages and templars.

Much of it was drowned out by the ending controversy, so hopefully they didn't listen too much.

It's been asked earlier in this thread what guarantee pro-mages can offer to prevent the rise of another Tevinter, or asked what we would do.

So in a completely non-mocking question. For those who are pro-circle or pro-templar, say you can regulate Circles and mages as much as you want, what would you do to keep both the mages and non-mages safe? And how would you address the mages concerns about their lack of rights or lack of ability to have families?

And how would you deal with Lambert or Meredith?

Or you know, just having the Templars as a non reaper implanted nutjob faction.

It great and all, but having that final "ahhhh, that's what that meant" or something along the lines of that is always nice, of course not until the end.

I think the templars are going to be split into 2 groups the one that supported lambert and went insane sniffing red lyrium and the templars that still support the divine.

I think lamberts red templars are just going to be enemies. The thing is while templar supporters are still saying tat mages are dangerous (they have a point) they never managed to convince me that the templars are not equally or even more dangerous then the mages. We have already seen thatt he templars can be easily corrupted with lyrium. now with the split from the chantry and deprived from their lyrium we can see how long these holy warriors stay holy.

Bioware specifically talked about the templars that left the Chantry in the article (where the Chantry is mentioned too), and the videos in the GI coverage. And Darrah's words during the PAX demo where stated when showing the cocmelt of mages facing templars.

Well it slightly favors the mages tbh hence the title of this thread.

What about a Tevinter without slavery or nationalism and racism? Technically its not a Tevinter anymore. Mages are royalty but people are not their slaves. Their reason is much more legit than royal familes where they are born with "royal" blood which actually doesn't exist.

Just putting it out there, do discuss. :)

So presumably they'll be working overtime to actually give said templars some sympathetic qualities out of thin air? Could be interesting, but we'll have to see.

I'd personally go with the Inquisition controlling the templars.

As much as I honestly love Tevinter so much, but I doubt slavery there would ever stop.

Agreed. Not as a whole anyway.

Though I am happy that they now have their own blood mages to deal with.

Well I was talking about a new nation where mages are royalty not tevinter.
