...It usually does though.

._.

I know. I was being sarcastic. Just like I don't trust mages absolute power, neither do I trust the Chantry, the templars or the Seekers absolute power either. No institution or group of people should have absolute power over others.

Lambert didn't seek to usurp the Divine or Chantry though.

He in fact even wanted the Chantry to be a part of the Circle system again once he was done putting down the Rebellion, he just didn't care for the Divine's actions, stance or her personally.

His actions were done out of belief, not lust for power.

If he had been after power, he likely would have turned the army he had assembled against the Divine, he even went so far as to call her unworthy to sit on that throne, but he didn't move to strike against her or the institution he was pledged to formerly.

Not a black and white character certainly but not an overt maniac either, he had his beliefs and he acted accordingly.

Fine, fine, I'll play along.

Lambert tried to have Jeannot assassinate the Divine, then ordered Evangeline to murder the people the Divine had sent to investigate Paramond.

The "belief" that you hold up as his virtue is a fanatical zeal, it is the same sort of belief that inspires terrorists and witch-hunts. He is indeed an overt maniac, because he has some seriously twisted belief that he acts in accordance with.

I imagine mages don't like being branded Maleficar if some aren't out right branded on their foreheads. You'll have to forgive my terminology towards individuals who either participate in said events or sit back and allow it to happen with nary a care in the world.

Mundane, mundane, mundane.

They can be loyal to the Republic yet feel regret that they were ordered to kill the Jedi. Do you think the bomber crews in WW2 didn't feel regret over the innocent lives claimed by their bombing raids? The did, but had their orders.

And as Warden Z said:

Yeah. You have never given me any reason to believe every single mage is the equivalent of a nuclear bomb. Ever.

A mage going out of control may be an accidental arsonist if untrained, or Elsa from frozen, but don't direct anti-mage hyperbole and exaggerated allegories that don't match the setting. It's unbecoming of you.

....

You wish to consort with a demon and bind it to your weapon. Interesting.

I'm thinking a good name for your possessed blade would be "Hypocrisy." It has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

If you ever can find two strands of evidence that even vaguely suggest that Lambert had any hand personally in directing that loony i'd love to see it.

And as for ordering the Knight Captain to do her duty? Well that was a tiring circumstance, Lambert even explained his reasoning for it. It would further rock the boat when it was just about dang near capsized already, A cure for tranquility would equate that the rite isn't infallible and thus the one surefire method of removing criminals and the weak from posing a threat goes out the window, it would be executions for those offenses instead, it would result in even more upheaval then the mere differences of a handful of mages.

He said it several times, he was concerned with stability, he put that over peoples lives even, its not a perspective many people can get behind i realize but when you manage the bulwark between magic and humanity, extremes occasionally come into play.

As for his personality, well i guess we can agree to disagree on that, to me he wasn't an extremist, not a moderate but he didn't have a fanatic zeal to do anything beyond preventing a second imperium.

Demons weren't involved in either blades construction; Just pointing that out.

.-. And i think sentience would just be a higher grade enchantment personally, or at leas that's how i'd view it.

I agree with not liking to refer to them as "Mundanes". Why is nonmage not acceptable? I'm also fine with Muggle for comedic purposes.

I've never seen nonmage (or normals, or whatever) be referred to as not acceptable. I stick with mundane because it is my... preferred nomenclature.

Mundane, mundane, mundane.

Really, you should try to be more considerate. If the word "mundane" bruises a delicate ego, it may easily be replaced by other options.

Magic-incompetent?

Mana-impaired?

Enchant-mute?

Mudminded?

Dweomerless?

Flintbanger or bandaid-binder? (unable to use magic to light a fire or heal)

There are many options other than "mundane." Be considerate.

There really should only be one title for the Magickers :P

"Blight Bringer"

It really should stop and end there, its the acceptance of being of the same ilk as the beings that caused the most destructive plague to ever combat Thedas.

I looked them up on Google. Enserric seems interesting, but that Samehada thing is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. It reminds me of Monty Python's "fish slapping dance."

And the other one... all I found was references to the movie Gigi.
