I can see that causing every one a lot of problems.
Hence why the Inquisition was reformed.

However Templars especially considering the power boost the mages will likely get from it. I wonder if it will override the antimagic spells like how Anders going into the Avander State overwrote Karl's Tranquility. Also, will all Tranquil stop being Tranquil due to access to the Fade?

I don't think having demons running willy nilly through the woods are going to be a particularly good thing for mages especially. Demons and mages tend to be a bad mix for everyone.
And I doubt mages will get a power boost from it. If anything common fiction would imply that mages' powers will be in a state of flux due to the interference.

It'd also make them less prone to spirit's influence. They won't have the safety of the waking world to resist temptation. Imagine being whispered to not just when you are connected to the Fade, but every passing moment - how many would resist and for how long?

Swarms of abominations roaming the countrysides...
Not good.
On the other hand, demon possession may actually decrease since the need for the host is gone with the Tears open.

This is probable but I wonder if they'll want a host anyway, considering it's not the most common sight.

Some will most likely, if for no other reason than to hide and as a contingency in case the Veil Tears are sealed again.

Incorrect. A demon outside the Fade without a host will deteriorate quickly, losing its powers ending up as a Shade, and presumably eventually a Wisp. Spirits and Demons need hosts outside the Fade to maintain themselves.

I think the issue might be that, with the tears, demons may be able to sustain themselves longer.

But again, that was Pre-Veil Tear. With those open, they have access to it just like we have access to our home after we leave.
But as I said, the higher tiered ones may still do so in order to both hunt more effectively and as a Plan B.

It also should be noted a spirit gets a massive power boost when its in possession of a mage corpse or meatshell.

Really? I didn't know that. Interesting.
I wonder if "good" spirits will wander out, too.

They would still have no spark of divine inside them, so they would still crave the possession.

Said possessing spirit gains access to the power of the mage in question.
it's only logical no?

Yes, but logic doesn't always matter in Thedas

Really? I think positive attribute spirits would enter the living world along with their more malign counterparts.
But i guess we don't anything concrete to support that, its just my take on the big glowing doorway to Thedas from the fade though.

Oh!! No, I didn't mean that lol, I thought you meant something else.
Yes, I think they will but I wonder if they'll be welcomed regardless of their purity.
There is also the matter that they crave the mortal experience, which they wouldn't get without possessing anything.

Supposedly getting a hold of a mage combines both the demon's magical powers with the mage's potential. But so far they mostly run and explode at you. ~_~

Like i said in a different thread if Demons were actually what they were in Lore in game...Erm Combating them would just be about suicide for the PC.

It would certainly make spirit mages more powerful than previously.
Going back to Ser Metten and his death squad.
To all people who felt he was justified, let me ask you this. Since templar authority is over mages and not over mundanes, why wasn't the magistrate, and we know there is one as there's a quest for him in Act 1, involved in the mundanes? If they had committed any crimes, why wasn't he involved? And why could the templars be judge, jury and execution for mundanes without him?

Yeah. It's sad when the abominations go down quicker than some skeletons.
