. Europe is waking up and going to class/work and America is sleeping, guess this is when the Aussies and Kiwis make their presence known.
Yeah, the Aussies who actually have jobs are just finishing work. I, however, have been here for hours.

The funny thing is I am only 33. But admittedly I have been a little old man for as long as I can remember.
Now, enough with these needless pleasantries. What horse can we beat to death today.
Mages are a dangerous subgroup of the population who does not deserve the right of self government. If you are a mage you have a duty to the greater population not to abuse the gift Andraste bestowed on you. So therefore you must be trained at a tower until you are no longer an apprentice after that, you have to return to the tower twice a year for conclaves with other mages. Families are more than welcome to visit apprentice and such. The harrowing and tranquility when necessary will continue.
The templar order will be rebuilt with an emphasis on protecting and watching over the mages. Attrocities and abuses will not be tolerated and will be dealt with severly. Including tranquility for extreme offenders ie the same standard used for apprentices, if they can't prevent themselves from abusing mages they will be tranquiled. The seekers will resume their position of watching the templars and will not have duties relating to mages.
Each circle will be overseen by a triumvirate of of Knight Commander, 1st Enchanter, and a Grey Warden. Their decisions will be final in settling mage/templar disputes. In exchange for this service Grey Wardens will be allowed to recruit 1 mage a year who has passed their harrowing to the Wardens(Which is a significant increase from currently being allowed to only have 1 mage from each circle at a time).
Circles will still operate under the Chantry and by Andraste grace will continue to flourish.
there that outta give all of you something to debate.

"I came to the Circle from the Grey Wardens because I saw something had to be done. In the Wardens, we learn to watch for our moment and seize it — and that moment is now"
Guess who said this.
I just love how everything works in her favor in Asunder and she does not have to do any of the dirty stuff herself, Adrian and Evangeline take care of all them. With her hands clean she remains one of the good ones, chaotic good but good. Fear the mage who killed brood mothers without any help, what are some puny drug addict zealots in comparison.

All those who oppose them will suffer the fiery wrath of our beloved Andraste! The word is clear!

Considering both her and her divine husband are MIA, somehow I'm not too worried. ![]()

This debate can only end in a filibuster.... or a lockdown...

Or just quiet for now. Give it about 3 hours or so and this thread will wake up some more.
I'm wondering to myself how seriously 'evil' players can be taken when conversations like these are the norm rather than the exception.

Oh, BURN!
While I do enjoy playing an Andrastian as my human characters, that is certainly a thing that bugs me. A god who ignores or neglects his people? Sounds more like Conan's religion, minus needing the world to worship to gain paradise on earth. I would like to see Leliana's belief take root in the Chantry, but until then, that bit of their theology is depressing.

I always found that weird as well and Leliana's version much more agreeable.
By the way, how do mage supporters in this thread imagine the Mages reestablish themselves and their independence in the Southern Thedas, considering the nature of the society of this hemi-sphere is fairly hostile towards mages? Is it going to be integration into the already established governments and on what terms, or is it going to be segregation into isolated state, and then - how its going to be maintained from the bottom to top, considering the mages population aren't many, and even Tevinter wouldn't be able to exist without a slaves' labor. Or do they envision simple emigration into mage-friendly Northern societies into eventual merging, including submission of the weaker ones.
Mind you, that no government supported the mage revolution, unlike in the US Civil War, and no country in Southern Thedas expressed their desire to follow, unlike in Russia.

To be fair, Tevinter wouldn't be able to exist as an empire without slave labor, not cease to exist altogether.

If you exclude everyone, but mages?

If only mages and no nonmages whatsoever, then I think the community would be about the size of a city. So at best a City State like the Free Marshes are comprised of, or one of the Bannorn of Ferelden were before uniting. Anything larger than that would be logically unfeasible.
But I shouldn't speak on that position's behalf. I was just pointing out a slight flaw in your last post.

Bad wording perhaps, since English is not my first. But i was speaking from perspective, that its not a country uprising, but a minority group uprising, without political or commoners support (regarding Southern hemi-sphere).

That is true, yes. Though it will have some support, in the form of families who have mages in their family. We see this in DA2.
Which would make them a special interest group, not a broad base of support across the lower classes.
Now I want the commoners to do a Magna Carta type thing in Inquisition.
Something like
'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all people are not created equal, that they are endowed by their Maker with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Right To Throw Fireballs At Any Who Oppose The Previous Two'
?
(Alright, more Declaration of Independence, and not exactly commoner-friendly.)

My best bet is: There are going to be 3 different groups forming the bulk of the surviving mages.
1. Pro Tevinter
This Group will probably join the magisters
2. Elven Mages
If the Dales will be reestablished, it is safe to assume most elven mages will join théir brethren.
3. The Independence ( Mages like Fiona and Anders)
a ) Create a state of their own as a safehaven for mages
b ) Join Ferelden ( if a future Mage King or Primeminister Connor is possible)
c ) Destroy The chantry( or at least the circle system) to ensure safety for mages in all of thedas

1. Emigration and possible submission for majority, as i mentioned.
2. And if not? The number of Keepers and their Firsts, that is required, is limited. They even send magical children to other clans, if their own does not require another mage.
3.
a) And who would give them the land to create a state, or would they attempt to take it by force and if then - from which country? There will have to be common border with at least one mage-friendly country in case things get tricky. Unless they want to be surrounded, of course.
b ) And if not? Even if the next king will be a pro-mage, on what terms their integration into common Andrastian society would be possible?
c) How do you envision the destruction of a primary religious institute of the hemi-sphere by a minor, if powerful group?

They can have Seheron. If they can take it.
