Not really seeing that.

We've seen templars and priests being perfectly neutral towards the Chasind and dalish.

When they have better things to do. When they don't, they can be quite vicious.

Everyone can be quite vicious sometimes, under specific circumstances.

Try again.

The Chantry is a benevolent organization that does not hide it's expansionistic tendencies and agendas behind their many good deeds. They have never hurt anyone or anything. They are all that is good in the world of Thedas.

Ahem "Blessed are the peacekeepers Champions of the Just."

"Blessed are they who stand before the corrupt and the wicked and do not falter."

It allows War, Violence and strife done.

._.

Just it does it in the name of god.

Perfectly reasonable in my eye.

A religion based off of rebellion, betrayal and execution? It allows mercy yes, but it's in no way peaceful.

Not to mention that the Chantry was founded by helping Drakon Exalted March all his neighbors to create Orlais, and was chosen out of many Andrastian cults.

So you want a none magic based Tevinter Imperium then. Now that IS evil. So pardon me :)

You act like that's wrong?

  It's time for normal people to rule the world...oh wait, they already do  :D

I just want them to be united in doing it.

  No.

Hence why i wasted the time to expand the concept of a Human Centrist Empire united via Chantry Doctrine.

Err

I'd say Orlais would be more appropriate.

Given it is an Actual Empire and all.

Just want to expand the concept.

Well the name is not that important since you have to be as cruel as Tevinter (if not more cruel) to achieve that.

I'd rather see politics of Ferelden to grow. Its the closest Thedas has to Democracy and Liberalism. Ferelden is perhaps further advanced because its existence is in opposition to Orlais; their nationalism is defined in opposition to Orlesian norms.

Democracy automatically = good thing for you?

It invites in weakness, division and self interest into a society though, Attributes that can and have destroyed many nations.

Thankfully Fereldan has it relatively contained given that only Nobility can vote...Hrm reminds me of the Modern world what with people electing folks to vote their interests, except the Bannorn are born into their position.

Ah well thankfully it seems to be a fairly well contained phenomenon.

I value Liberalism more than Democracy but yeah it works too.

If the real world is any judge that is the only way things work out. More importantly there will be less wars as people start to value their daily lives more than their sense of Nationality. EU was created for this very reason. All those countries in that small space, it literally invited war if there was no unity.

A human centrist empire in the style of Orlais? Lo, I was born with too merciful a heart. I'd sooner kill them all.

A commonwealth of nobles doesn't have that much to do with democracy. On the one hand, the bannorn might act as a sort of parliament in the English style, given further evolution. Or it could work like a Muscovite council of boyars, a decidedly non-democratic institution that did not lead to increased representation outside the aristocracy.

Lawful Neutral is the way of peace. We need order in Thedas.

Good afternoon all.  I'm here lurking, but I figured I'd offer some coffee for some of my favorite forumites.

How fun. Well, if it helps, I will probably execute all Blood Mages and Red Templars. With a small possibility of imprisonment instead. Maybe.
