Didn't Asunder mention how Rhys and his Murderous Former girlfriend went out into the capital occasionally? Back when the circle was actually stable?

How many serfs can have a holiday in Val Royeaux?

Are we back to the whole who has it worst arguement?

Cuz my two cents are everyone's got a heap of crap to deal with. Thedas (and RL too tbh) is the kind of place where everyone has crap (deserved or undeserved) to deal with.

It is a valid question. Some people in Thedas will claim that mages are opressed and that the PC should help them fight this opression.

However, we have never seen a Circle mage famished. Meanwhile, we can order the execution of a peasant who stole two sacks of grain because his family was starving after his sheep were killed by the Darkspawn.

I'd much rather help these people than aid the mages in their destructive war meant to increase the quality of life of an already upper class.

The answer is the casteless; I'm not sure how anyone can see it as an argument otherwise. :/

Help mages become people who don't get free food and that can be executed for stealing grain.

Well this is protagonist decision you can recruit him , whip or kill same with other decisions when you can choose what you want from killing to sparing. But i agree mages have very high standards of life only nobles have better and mostly pro-mages are extremely exaggerating.

Or you know kill the people trying to punish for their crime because comparing an average person to mage is completely accurate.

Yeah, yeah. You know me - best place for mages is the magocracy. :)

I agree, though I also add City Elves since they are essentially the same thing.

The best place for mages is in their circles where they can't dominate the world and they can be protected from the people who would kill them over being dominated.

City Elves have it a little bit better than the casteless.  But yes, those two are definately bottom rung.  Tevinter slaves might exist between the two though.

About the only thing city elves and casteless dwarves have over them is not being used for arcane rituals, otherwise i'd assume their situations are similar and comparable in most regards.

I think you mean "Help mages become the lords who order the execution of others."

True. I just acknowledge that it would never come to pass.

A mage wouldn't steal. He would just use blood magic to get whatever he wanted.

If I were a weakened mage, I would try to steal lyrium.

Well I have a solution, all Templars to be castrated, tortured and gang raped during training, a few thousand hours fo torture should be comparable to the way mages are forced to live,  if they can then have at least 5 children, they can imprison mages as they do now.  The other choice would be to have all limbs cut off, the lips removed, then run through town playing a trumpet and waving a flag.

Yeah another cosmic exaggeration well even not that it is just imaginary lives that you think mages have in truth mages have one of best lives in thedas only nobles have better averge mage life is limited to living in luxuries doing nothing to deserve that oh and they have free protection...

It depends, for some it's not really worth it when you live in the same ( not particularly big ) ''house'' for years without leaving. What entertainment do they have in there?

Well perhaps but pro-mages just love make up things and drama to show how their side is right and mages are abused when it isn't in case besides mages are allowed to leave and it still doesn't change fact that mages have better living standarts than most of thedas. So those are baseless screams of pro-mages how mages have horrible... Sure i wouldn't trade my freedom for such thing well but as i said mages aren't abused only few individuals as in our times in real life rest is just pro-mages imagination.
