Err, i don't think they'd find anything resembling a deer afterwards, in that case
Oh, I know. They could use blood magic to control the deer, so it comes to them and stands still as they prepare a meal out of it!
Or set up paralyze glyphs as traps!

After reading the preview of The Masked Empire in Amazon, I'm beginning to like Duke Gaspard's opinion of Templars and Mages: "A good war unites the empire. Maybe we can let those idiots in the Chantry and the Circle kill people outside our borders instead of inside them". The other option, that Celene herself was thinking about, was putting down both of them.
It's a nice change for once to hear some in-universe opinions in DA that aren't "mages are dangerous" or "templars are tyrants", but "both of them are freaking stupid and if they keep making trouble all of them will end in the gallows, period" ![]()

I've only seen the first part of the first chapter available. So Gaspard wants to utilize the warring factions to the benefit of the empire, while Celene wants to put them both down?
It's a normal political view on the situation, he'd be a fool not to use it to his benefits.

I didn't get that impression from Celene. She seemed to want to quell the fighting more than actually crush either group.

Who cares about the masses? Already criminals, masses supported the circle for centuries.
Tevinter thought the same then Andrastate happened. ![]()
Tevinter thought the same then Andrastate happened.
Well the first blight that ravaged Tevinter for 250 years had much more role than Andraste but yeah...
Maybe the Chantry should send the Templars on a trip to Belize, all expenses paid.

Yeah, just push them all through an Eluvian to our world! Then smash the mirror so they can't return.

And lock them up in rehab.

Tevinter endured. If it wasn't for Qunari they would be in an even better position.
Every empire is bound to fall under its weight, leaving only pitiful remnants of its former glory.
And lock them up in rehab.
Nope, nuke Belize!!!

Edit: I kid, I kid.

Tevinter was ravaged by blights, riots, multiple holy marches and Qunari. Tevinter is still standing.

Haha! That would have made someone very happy

And heading the way of Rome.
And heading the way of Rome.
I think they are doing better than Rome did.
Tevinter will crumble, have no doubt about it. At best they'd be like England right now.

I'm not so sure.

Well if you are comparing Tevinter to Rome you should know that eastern Roman empire (Byzantine) is better comparison as devs stated.
Many European, particularly eastern European counties hated Byzantine but as soon as it fell disaster fell upon Europe as Byzantine was a wall against Ottoman Empire and as soon as it fell so did most of eastern Europe. There are many similarities between Constantinople (today known as Istanbul) and Minrathous too.
Tevinter is a wall against Qunari too. Because of Tevinter the Qunari have no foothold on mainland Thedas and don't have the element of surprise. they are literally held in check. During all these years no nation of Thedas has offended Tevinter least of all attack it because they know this. Its kinda the enemy of my enemy is my friend situation but instead of friend Tevinter is "necessary" atm.
I'm not so sure.
Indeed. If they do crumble, I don't think it would be happening any time soon.
