It's conquered over a dozen sovereign realms, Its now marching to war once again in the North
May the great white sun consume all!
That is a fairly blatant copy of the Vergina Sun, an icon found in the tombs of Aigai, in northern Greece, which is widely regarded to have been the heraldic emblem of the Argead kingdom of Makedonia. The armies of Philip and Alexander would have employed that blazon on their flags and shields.
I've never played the Witcher games, but if that symbol is in them, I'm vaguely distressed that the makers of the games would go so far as to directly copy Internet artwork of a real historical emblem for the game to be used in an entirely distinct context. It seems dirty, somehow.
Digging in the wiki I came across this line from codex:
"And yet the Imperium survives. Whether with sword or magic, Tevinter remains a force to be reckoned with. Minrathous has been besieged by men, by Qunari, by Andraste herself, and never fallen."
Interesting
There is a first time for everything. Perhaps there is a barrier effect, and that once that barrier is broken for the first time, subsequent efforts get easier and easier until, y'know, stuff like this happens.
