What of the wizard? What of the man in grey who brings the clouds to supper? You cannot simply say that the mages are in disarray. The mages can win the war with a combination of team spirit and reciprocity.

Fear could easily be turned around on the Templars if the Mages won this war, so I guess you're right.
It was a Starwars joke ._.
And we all know the Circle returning is the only outcome of this war.
Sake of consistency in future titles, blah blah, did a much more detailed explanation of this line of thought earlier in the thread.

But how many of them were forced to fight without being asked or believing in this cause? You're assuming there's a great number, when we don't know the magnitude of the situation yet.
So you're suggesting that hoping to spare the innocent isn't worth the effort because we don't know exactly how many there are?

Not at all, we don't know the outcome. Unless you've played the game already, and possibly the fourth installment, I'd love to hear your sources ![]()

I'm suggesting that you don't know how many mages believe in this and are fighting for their own personal cause. I'm suggesting that you're assuming your terms would even appeal to them. They all fear Tranquility, why would you think watching their leaders turn Tranquil would make them peaceful with you?

Were people arguing whether mages can cast spells without arms?
Well, in "The Calling" the Architect had this overpowered spell where he could burn people out of existence with black flames (pretty much Amaterasu). One Grey Warden slices his arm off and not onyl does the Architect never casts it again, he runs away imediatelly.

If the Kirkwall and Darismund annulments hadn't happened I could see his point. As of now? Such actions would make the conflict everlasting.

Compromise will ultimately dictate the circle return, mages may or may not have more freedom in the restructured circle but it will return, unless if you think a universal shift in the Magic Para dime in DA is in the cards, which i don't.
It would be near impossible to feature the choice in future titles after all, if you had completely free and unregulated mages all through out the world in one world state and another with them back in the circle, or even another with the war still ongoing, either this plot point is DRASTICALLY going to shrink and become much less involved in DA, or else ultimately compromise will see both sides return to the status quo.
It isn't my take on the plot, its my time on how you implement choices in future titles in games, unless if you just WANT to dump oodles of resources into expanding all those multiple choices, which i doubt Bioware would given its a lot more work for them and little reason to do it besides to cater to a few people who admittedly would want this war fought to its closing day.

Titus was using Maric's blood, which is the blood of the Dragon (go away Daenerys), to power his spells. It wasn't a typical situation.

The plot point will most definitely shrink in Inqisition at least. There's every reason to believe the mage/templar conflict will be an enduring theme until the very end.

Dragon enhanced blood magic. That is a truly scary thought.

Semantics, he could use dragons blood spells with his hands, but he didn't.
I just think that it's all up to the individual. If you are an awesome mage then you cast spells like a boss, but awesome mages are rare.
