And?

Just because its "hip" apparently to despise organized religion in the modern day doesn't mean there is anything wrong it with being uniform and organized into a National or international scale.

Now go sip your kale juice.

Inherently, not necessarily, but religious meddling in political matters rarely goes well, especially nowadays.

Catholicism ._. Wasn't expecting that one to be honest.

Although my personal faith isn't anything to condone the judgement of it mind you.

I addressed the hornhead ox-men in the very post you quoted, Renfrees, not my fault you chose to ignore it. Next indeed.

Bottomline: The Chantry will bend or it will break. It will restore or it will be destroyed. Take that however the hell you'd like. I stand by my convictions.

Later.

Except he's not ignoring, but you keep bringing up the Chantry when nobody even mentioned them with your own bias view vendetta against them

Yeah, I'm gonna have to disagree on the "hip" part. And kale juice? Really?

People seem to like despising wide spreed religion for the sake of despising it, its become a cultural trope, so, hip would be accurate.

And People drink Kale juice :P

Well, I personally dislike expansionist, exclusionary religion.

The way is open to every one.

The Path is there for the individual to walk but they shall be judged on their own merits alone.

._. And Yes my faith is worldwide too, and yet it isn't magically is exclusive.

It also doesn't offer an afterlife, deity figure or most other things religions offer, but its still practiced.

Magical  ;)

No. At least, not inherently.

I think the words "these days" are redundant. Isn't it ever?

Actually, you struck me as more of a State Shintoist from Japan's Imperial period.

Yes, we Methodists just ooze exclusion.  Seriously, have you ever been to a service of most of the religions ya'll choose to denigrate?

BTW, I actually have no problem with a religious component to government, when the government was more or less founded by that religion.

And also, the anti religious types just tick me off when in their quest for religious freedom they seek to remove historical ties or stomp on my own religious freedoms.  They are very chantry like in that regard.

But we seriously don't need a mage/templar debate to go the way of religious debating.....

Um... firstly, if you mean the US, it was in no sense founded "by" Christianity. Secondly, we don't seek to remove any of your supposed freedoms that don't infringe on other peoples' freedoms.

No, I actually was referring to places like Vatican city, where it makes sense for religion and government to mix.  The U.S. is built on religious freedom, it would be extremely hypocritical of me to think we should be run by religion.  Its what makes this country what it is.

My issue with religious freedoms has more to do with the refusal to let kids who choose to pray in schools pray, and attempts to remove the phrase "one nation under god" from the pledge of allegiance.

But again we really don't want to take this thread this direction.

Vatican City should have no governmental power and certainly no governmental influence on the affairs of other nations, "under God" has no reason to exist in the Pledge due to the aforementioned religious freedom thing (and was only added because of paranoia about Communists), and the only thing that's ever been banned is organized prayer. Feel free to PM me if you want.

How odd, I thought it was inherent in sovereign states that they have governmental power, particularly over themselves, and that they should attempt to exert influence in the affairs of other sovereign states, particularly when those affairs have an impact on both parties.

I don't consider it a legitimate state.

To the main point we should you know, shift back topic and all.

This political mumbojumbo puts a bad taste in my mouth.

When the international community decides to review the Vatican City State's sovereign status and solicits your opinion on the matter, let us know.
