@Z: Aye, but how would you like to see them humanized?
Well i guess i could go off here on a tangent given i was asked to do so, very well.
For Templars? Those would be rank and file people, Good and Bad, Abusive and compassionate, Warriors of Faith but wielders of a blade of Mercy. They aren't perfect people, They believe in what they do however, they buy into the Chantry teachings, and see the circle as a needed thing.Divine Right over Mages or no, I'd argue They legitimately do believe they are right in containing Mages from the common people and protecting Mages from themselves and the common people. I'd want them portrayed as such, the Rebels such as they are would have separated not only to make war upon the Mages and return the system to the status quo but also to protect the common people from the threat of magic.
To that end i'd like a few random encounters of Templars protecting the random mooks they are supposed be safeguarding from the common people or vice versa, I'd want Templars to actually do their duty, Same for the Seekers if the system is ever restored. I'd want them to be as people would be, not self driven notions of extremism and triteness merely to incite a point. Ultimately for this faction? I just want them to be portrayed in a more sane light then they were in DA 2 but in a slightly more aggressive state due to the hostilities then they were in DAO.
They are an Army built to safeguard humanity from Magic and i want to act like it.
For Mages? Its far more difficult to say, Ultimately we don't know if they even have formed a united group or splintered into roving bands or what have you. Personally? I'd like the Mindsets of the Mages for the most part to be determined by the former Fraternities, at least for the Enchanters, I'd want the perspective of Loyalists given as much credence as a Libertarian or Isolationist, which by the way should be using this entire exercise as an excuse to go flee into the Wilds of Fereldan.
Apart from that? I'd want them to be what they are, People with the burden of Magic, Blood Mages, Abominations and all other things should be present. I want the Mages to truly grasp what this struggle for freedom will entail and i want to see how their perspective is altered by this conflict, ultimately i want that for both factions but especially the mages.
I want to see if they are content with whatever outcome arrives, and the cost it came at.
