Indeed. May the creators have mercy on enemies of the Dalish because I certainly won't.

Given what's been suggested about being able to focus on tasks the player deems important (the allocation of limited resources and agents to certain projects) and customize the appearance of the soldiers under your command (perhaps with Dalish symbols), I'd like to think that the Inquisition can be an asset to the Elvhen.

Considering what my Warden and Hawke did to them, I'm surprised they still exist.

Well, not much longer I hope...

We're exterminating those pests little by little. Soon the CE will be the only damn elves left. Let those arrogant fops suck on that.

You thought that those were the whole dalish clans?

Well, I hoped so.

Even if I like Dalish, I can't say I agree on your view on the CE. And I quite enjoyed playing as a CE in DAO.

I didn't hate them, I just found no reason to play a CE when I could be Dalish. However for the sake of really completing the game I finished the game with all races/origins including CE at least once.

Magi origin was my favorite regardless of race as I felt it had very deep and extensive story in comparison to other origins. After all it was almost a whole hour longer than other origins. The Dalish story was nice too but it didn't had good connection to the game, I felt weird being a grey warden. I think devs were smart to force the joining on Dalish, join or die, because it would have make no sense at all to join willingly.

I can't see why it couldn't potentially.

If the Dalish wouldn't be so hostile, racist and xenophobic it wouldn't happen. Nothing against elves, but the Dalish are just horribly annoying and whiny.

Yeah too bad you can't do that as a City elf. *weeps bitter bitter tears*

I'm sorry about the lack of a CE option.

Edit: @dalish are the true elves above *barfs* Another reason CE Inq is such a lost lost opportunity.

I'm hoping the narrative provides elven perspectives for the CEs and the Dalish.

XD you should've known better. But hope springs eternal as they say.

But yeah my fav origins in DAO were HN, CE then Magi. Dalish origin was terrible. Dwarf origins rocked but my height complex made it so they were practically unplayable to me so alas.

Personally I kinda felt miserable when I played a CE on DAO. I was 2nd class citizen and mocked constantly, mistaken for a servant etc... Dalish elf had especial threaten dialogue for that ignorant human who mistakes him for a servant. Choosing that line was greatly satisfying.

Therefore I didn't have much like for CE. The Dalish are the true elves!

Also long before this I had an idea that you have to be somebody to be the inquisitor and I kinda knew we won't have CE or Casteless dwarf because they are practically peasants. Whatever the dwarven inquisitor is he/she will not be casteless as their last name is Cadash and could easily be a noble. We'll probably play as surface former noble dwarf which is new and awesome in my opinion.

Indeed. May the creators have mercy on enemies of the Dalish because I certainly won't.

Wait, what happened with traipsing through dirt and preserving the old ways? Being the head of the political order, maintaining several keeps. These two... don't go together.

Dalish genocide, Human Genocide, Orlesian Genocide, Andrastian genocide, Qunari genocide, Dwarven Genocide, Darkspawn Genocide...

It's amazing how often 'let's kill them all and let the Maker sort them out, for great justice' gets tossed around on these forums. You'd think people never learned to tolerate dysfunctional and unpleasant foreign regimes with anything less than total destruction.

XD I wouldn't even mind the racism and xenophobia if they had the steel to back it up. But they don't. So it's a bunch of hot air blowing from someone with nothing to back it up and it's pathetic and annoying.

If DAI has more non upturned nose Dalish then yay improvement. Even Merrill has her "...you serious right now?" moments.
.

So am I ;_; (that said I always thought DE should've had a mage version as well so this is kind of overdue I just wish my CE rogue could've joined in the Inq fun :( )

It probably will.

@Dean: Nuke it with fire is a perfectly valid solution in video games :P (Plus it usually gives a ton of XP) and loot. Don't forget the loot.

My opinion on possibly annihilating all/most of the dalish in DAI is the same about my opinion on destroying Orlais: it's not going to happen.

Definitely going out of my way to **** all over the Shemlen as the Dalish Inquisitor. Going to find racism in every word they say, going to be offended everytime that they blink. Gonna be the most cantankerous Inquisitor I can be. Do everything in my power to make their lot so much harder than it need be. All the while making myself invaluable as an ally so they can't do nothin'.

Because I don't like Andrastrian humans. No, I don't like them at all.

Considering outsides typically threaten them or try to kill them, I don't see why you're surprised that the Dalish are wary about outsiders.

And you seem to be forgetting that racism and xenophobia are traits among all the races of Thedas, even though they aren't all the same. Even the city elves use the term 'flat ear' to look down upon certain elves, and view the Dalish disparagingly.

Not ever dalish is hostile, racist and xenophobic.

Do we consider limiting the concept of personhood to one's own faction and implicitly rendering everyone else a sort of un-people hostile, racist, and xenophobic? Because that's what the Elven culture does at an identity level: there are The People, and there are things who are Not People. As far as cultural hurdles go, that's a pretty blunt one that has to be overcome.

Not Dalish can't... but not every Dalish needs to be hostile, racist, and xenophobic to be part of a hostile, racist, and xenophobic culture. Cultures are identified by the prevalent norms, not the exceptions. Exceptions are a good basis for not engaging in universal punishments, but they aren't a good basis for assuming a different norm.

We don't have a history of destroying Orlais in the DA series. We do have a history of being able to antagonize and destroy dalish clans.

Yeah I wanted to but she kept craning her head to look up at people and I got midway to Ostagar before I went nope reloaded and made a elven mage. She still crans her head but she's not trying to break her damn neck.

Destroying a clan per game is one thing. Destroying all the clans is another.

We also have a history of killing lots more humans than we can kill Dalish. The clans aren't particularly large- not relative to other groups we see.

If we added them up together Hawke kills, what, four or five clans worth of humans per Act? And I think the Warden kills more humans in the streets of Denerim (not even including the houses) than there were Dalish in the game.
