Lately it is taking me a minimum of 2-3 button pushes to revive fallen teamates.  Besides the obvious, like taking fire getting melee'd and a weapon being charged, what give?.  I rush over to my teamate and see the revive circle start, only for it quit, then I have to hit A but(xbox) again.  Sometimes I cant even revive them and they are forced to gel.

Sorry if you were in a game with me and this happened.  Maybe my controller is borked?

Happens to me on PC aswell, so likely maybe it has nothing to do with you

edit: of course, your controller could be broken and you could have additional issues to the standard ones

I see you're on xbox.

Most likely your controller is crap. Old controllers can sometimes have the sticks get stuck at a very slight angle. Just enough for the game to think you're still moving and not let you perform certain actions. Happens to me all the time.

I just noticed it on PS3. Stand over character, look down, press X to...press X to rev...SMASH X to *dead*

Surefire way to revive people on Xbox:

1) Stand over the player mashing A while nothing happens
2) Let the enemy shoot you until you're down to about half health
3) Realize you need to get out of there because you're getting killed and can't get this guy up
4) Hold A and forward to sprint
5) You will now revive the downed player, guaranteed (although you'll get killed before the revive cycle is complete)

lag will cause a delay in it "working", and yeah faulty controllers. Which is kinda funny considering my ps3 controller R2 screwed up on my newest controller that i just bought about 6 months ago, thankfully i still had my old controller so i dismantled it and replaced the retention spring that was broke and blam my new controller is working just fine again.

Happens to me a lot. V embarrassing when I'm trying to revive a pug , can't , end up having to give up and run away before I die myself , and then they bleed out

The revive animation is one of the most difficult ones to complete, but I don't know why.

Even events or attacks that do not normally stagger will interrupt a revive animation. It also gets lowest priority on the "everything" button, so it's even worse on console, where if there's any cover nearby, you'll get into cover, instead (same thing with devices.)

When you start the revive animation, is your character sliding slightly to the left or right? If you are, the revive will keep canceling and you won't be able to complete the revive until you're not moving at all. Also in some rarer situations, it will allow the revive circle to progress slightly before it cancels. This can happen with devices as well

Basically if the revive cancels, make sure you aren't sliding before starting the next revive. If its not that, then idk bruh, maybe its your controller

This.

What's worse is when you get to the fallen teammate and mash A... and nothing happens. I've had this happen a few times too and it sucks for both of you.

You're out in the open getting shot up and trying really hard to save somebody

And to your teammate it simply looks like you're standing above him saying "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL U SUX N00B"

I've been having trouble lately completing revives, moreso than starting them.

Like, the revive circle will complete itself and look like you're finished, so you get up and leave... only to realize the downed teammate is still down and you didn't actually fully revive them.

Not sure if this is lag, weirdness, or me anticipating too quickly. Image IPB

Biggest issue I've had is when the circle completes and the player is still down. By the time I realize it, I'm across the map thinking they're right behind me or at least back on their feet.

Ugh.... I've been dealing with the same problem. How long do Xbox controllers typically last? Mine is a year old and suddenly turned into a piece of crap. Right bumber sticks all the time. Also have trouble getting my character to actually stamd still. Will slowly move forward or turn in circles without me even touching the controller..

Unfortunately not a constant, Akire. I had the same controller for years until I bought a new, silver one last year with the more pronounced d-pad. I was tired of hitting the Ops pack and getting missiles or an ammo pack. That one didn't last a year before the sticks were worn on it and I was either constantly inching forward and/or turning left. Apparently there is a way to "clean" problems like that up, but the problem is common among Xbox controllers. The right bumper thing...dunno about that, but they are separate problems. If you want to try fixing the sticks yourself, check out this vid

Though if you're to that point, it might just make more sense to grab a new controller. If you can live without the luxury of wireless, wired controllers are $20 (US) cheaper and work just the same.

Yeah you can't really say how long a controller will last, too many factors in there, like how much you use it, how well it was manufactured, how many times you chuck it to the floor/across the room from rage... lol.

I always keep my broken controllers so i can use parts from them to do quick fixes for other controllers.... sometimes, depending on the issue. Like i said earlier I just repaired my newest ps3 controller's R2 trigger by taking one out of my previous controller, broken spring fixed, now it's like new again. Also yeah you'd be amazed at how much dust and gunk gets inside controllers. Sometimes just takin it apart and cleaning it fixes sticky buttons and or bumpers.
