Hi All,

Has anybody ever discovered how to make feats appear on the players quickslots automatically when the game starts?

e.g. When the NWN PC "Adaur" starts a game, he already has some feats assigned to his quicklsots, like Racial Light, etc.

I wanted to be able to assign my own designed feats to a PCs quickslots for when a player starts a game.

I still do not know how to do this ... and cannot remember if we concluded it was hardcoded somewhere.

Many thanks for help.
Lance.

Almost certainly hardcoded, unfortunately.

Thanks DannJ,

I had a nasty feeling that may be the case .... Felt like it should have been a 2da somewhere, but I guess not. :(

I'm surprised the game engine doesn't automatically add all usable feats that aren't on the combat mode / bard song interface, regardless of whether they're new or not. That would have been the logical approach.

I've occasionally noticed usable feats get added to the quickslots twice (just in case you need two ways to access 'sleight of hand', right next to each other). And sometimes useful ones don't get added at all. I often have to add 'ki strike' manually for new Weapon Master characters.

Hi DannJ,

I know ... it is really weird!

And, if I recall correctly, I do believe I *did* see one of my feats added on one of my PCs once. But, I have no idea why it was added and not to other character builds.

Still hoping somebody may have an insight to some deep hidden 2da somewhere. ;)

Cheers,
Lance.

I seem to recall that some of the races come with a few prepopulated quickslots, so perhaps there is an entry in the racial feats 2da files? For example, the cls_feat*.2da file has an entry for 'class radial menu', so maybe it is using an entry like that to know when to add them? Shrug. You would have to experiment with a few startup characters and peruse the matching 2das. Or I could be completely mistaken.

Hi rjshae,

I did already check these 2da files, but had no joy. :(

I even tried to search for certain "feats" throughout the 2da files, but had no joy that way either. :(

Oh well ....

Thanks for the suggestion though,
Lance.
