Is it just me, or does every SPECTRE agent cowtow to the whims of everybody in the galaxy? I was under the impression that a SPECTRE agent was above the rank-and-file, yet anytime someone talks to Shepard, it's dismissive of this fact? Novaria comes to mind - why can't I just say "screw all this, I'm going to Peak 17 NOW, and god help anyone who stands in my way!"?

Spectre's have no authority on Noveria as it's outside of the Council's jurisdiction, which is exactly why so many companies set up shop there

That's why I don't do their quests. The Consort is the best example, IMO. She wants you to go talk to someone who is spreading lies about her. Oh yeah, big threat to galactic peace.

Yes, I understand this, but it was just an example... The protagonist is treated the same everywhere he/she goes.

I think you could have said "screw all of this, I'm going to Peak 17" but it would have been a nightmare. They had you outgunned and outmanned and it would have been a bloodbath. Even if you are going renegade, you'd know full well it would be a fool's mission. So, in order to stay alive and possibly get something out of it in the end, you do what they want, for now.

Actually, everyone I encounter pretty much asks me to do stuff because as a Spectre I CAN GET IT DONE.

Actually, I never understood how the Mako GOT from the Normandy TO the hangar on Noveria or for that matter, to the hangar on Feros either...

I would think that they weren't THE mako, but the same class of vehicle... But isn't this off-topic?

Yes.

I'd also like to point out the paltry sums of money Shep would collect (even if charm/intimidate was used) for running everyone's errands...  I understand getting a crate of ammo past security for a big jellyfish would only net little (as the ammo is not very expensive), but how 'bout contract killing?  Like taking out the female crimelord's partners?  He should net like 100k per crimelord at the very least!

Oh yeah!  PLUS the ****ing expenses!!!  What about sustinence?  Parts (like gels to fix the Mako pooping around planets looking for said warlords)? Labor (there's a whole crew you'd have to compensate)?  It takes time galavanting around systems scanning and landing, so fuel nneds to be in there too!  Hazard pay (you can get killed during these missions)!  Sigh*

I concur mepilot... but that's normal for an rpg anyway. Shepard is the badass office-boy, underpaid and overworked. Saving the galaxy takes a back seat to fixing the copier and getting coffee for everyone in the board room.

Actually, I'm replaying it for the 3rd time now.  Just finished taking out the Geth in the tower on Feros and Liara just said to me "...and now we can talk to Fei Dan about whats going on here and get a vehicle safely out of the Normandy..."

So again.  I wonder how the damn Mako gets from the Normandy to the damn garage on Feros!  lol!
