Carrying is all very well but hacks get tedious when you've got PUGs who refuse to help and / or die within the first 10 seconds.

I'd take a PUG dying over and over in the hack circle over a scorewhore on the other side of the map dropping missiles to ensure their rightful first place finish.

Sorry...had a particularly irritating example of that the other day and I'm still sore about it.

If it helps by taking off aggro a little bit, then I have no problem with that.

On Rio it helps a hack team if someone kites the Banshees to the other side of the map, but do NOT kill them until the hack is done. Same thing on Ghost if the hack is in the extraction zone.

To be fair you only have 180 hrs up and the manifest that goes with that .

If the teams you are playing in are dying wave 3 then maybe everyones expectations are a bit high for Gold or everyone is hoping that someone will carry them for the 80K credits that would be so helpful for their manifest building.
When you have 4 inexperienced players together in a gold game you have the blind leading the blind and the game will turn into a dogs breakfast.
Not having a go at you but I see a lot of inexperienced players trying to get credits quickly that are relying on experienced players to carry them. Personally I don't mind carrying if I see people trying but a lot of players will see this as sponging.

On some maps/hack locations and/or for certain team makeups/difficulties that helps, but alot of times it's pointless. If I'm playing on gold with competent teammates, kiting enemies away from the hack isn't really helping us, its just making the hack take longer.

It's a shame there aren't more sadists like me... I have pugged gold all day on peaStree...90-95% of the hosts have been below n7 120, less than 500 challenge points. Of course no equipment, usually 1 or less mods on a common weapon... I mean that shuriken with the stability mod is badass... lulz but come on...

It's like a horrible cockroach infestation, and the Orkin man is nowhere to be found.... where the hell are all these n00bs comin from?

On Platinum Pugging this is what I often run into

Giant Reapers
Missle Glitchers
and Puggernauts

I see any of these I leave the lobby.

I have to say in all honesty, if not for PUGs I probably won't be playing this game. I play sporadically, because I cannot dedicate any particular time of day/week to play, plus I am playing with all my family around, so have no privacy and no headset, etc. I don't make friends - mainly because I won't be a reliable game partner. So, when I get in a good team, I am just trying to learn something. All the negative stuff - it just comes with PUGs, it is something I am aware of, so if I get in a failing squad, or if I get kicked out of the game, I just move on to the next one.

Same here. 99% of my games are PUGs. Certainly has its ups and downs.

I my experience every 6-7 lobbies are hosted by low N7s (sub 120), the others are fine. I have no problems to find decent teams. Not even on plat. And i don't even met a missile glitcher or a cheater.

During lobby, if you suspect the other teammates will suck. Just pull out your best kit and carry them. Either that or just leave, but I'd rather stay for showing off rights.

Yes, but the Krolord is tricky against the collectors on gold. And i don't want over 30 min games.

PUG's used to be muuuuuuuuch worse than they are now. Unless they've devolved in the last couple of weeks.

OMG so much new blood I hardly recognize anyone

OP, what's really going to blow your mind later on is:

why are gold pugs usually filled with "tryhards" rocking lolOP kits/weapons when platinum pugs are usually filled with n00bs who would struggle on silver with their manifests and kits?

that's when you're not inundated with Giant/Rio campers or glitchers...
