Has anyone been earmarked as Shepard in the movie? I have read that Shepard is going to be a man in the movie so I thought I would nominate Eric Banner. Eric’s portrayal of “Hoot” is how I would see Shepard only with the accent toned down.

What actors would you nominate for Shepard and Co.

Henry Cavill.

He is a decent actor, and when his hair is very short (first season of the Tudors) he kind of looks like Sheploo.

Cavill is already superman, Eric Banner could be a viable i guess if they put the role correctly. But considering that we all know shepards voice its going to be a bit hard to see and listen to someone else being shepard. Hell for all we know the movie will feature a large CGI cast where Mark Meer will be the voice and someone else would be the body. Inlcude Asari, Turians and Krogan and you definitely need a lot of CGI.

I nominate Bill Murray.

Otherwise, to hell with a movie. :)

I find myself a tad bit apprehensive about having a canonized shepard, I felt the same way about a canonized revan & exile for kotor 1&2. even if it's just for books or movies.

Probably a good lesson to not get too attached to something with "franchise" potential. Even though this was branded as a personal/choice based experience, it's got franchise potential. Someone will want to squeeze more than the personal out of it.

That only becomes an issue if both movies are being filmed around the same time, and there would be scheduling conflicts. Otherwise Cavill having played superman would have no impact a Mass Effect film.

I am just picturing his performance and thinking if he could do a more experessive commander shepard than he did superman.

I'm probably a small minority here but I for one would rather see FemShep in the movie.

Katee Sackhoff would get my vote.

No matter how much anyone wants that to happen, it won't.

As long as they make all the alien characters CGI and get their original voice actors - I'm fine. I can't imagine Raphael Sbarge playing Kaiden xD

Mark Vanderloo could play Shep with Mark Meer dubbing the voice.

Robert Downley Jr, so we'll have a Renegade Shep that will troll the other characters.

Tali, Wrex, and Garrus could keep their original voice actors.

Garrus and Wrex would be CGI, so there would be no reason why Brandon Keener and Steven Barr couldn't voice those characters unless scheduling conflicts came into play.

With Tali they could go the Darth Vader route. You put a stunt person in the suit and have Ash (or is it Liz?) Sroka voice the character. Also, there is a 0% chance that Tali would be the LI. So you don't have to worry about a face reveal or the stunt woman not sounding like the VA.

Seth Green should also play Joker. They look similar, so bringing the VA in to play the character in the movie makes perfect sense.

I'm starting to think this movie is never going to take off
but i think Shep needs to be both charming and intimidating so someone in between Chris Evans and Mark Wahlberg

i also think that Ash and Kaiden's roles will be combined into one person, and Therum and Feros will get cut, and Liara will be met on Eden Prime maybe

Yeah that would all make sense. Miranda of course will be played by Yvonne Strahovski.Keith David could play Anderson. Tricia Helfer only needs little makeup for EDI in "body" role. Lance Henriksen as Admiral Hackett would be perfect.Carrie-Ann Moss as Aria would be kickass. Marina Sirtis+ bit of cgi and makeup still works well as Benezia, Ali Hillis while could be Liara would also need CGI.
Michael hogan is bailey, we have already seen him in BSG do just that. So yeah mostly its shepard who needs very careful choosing and I doubt that the face of shepard has the acting ability.

As much as I like Ali Hillis as a VA, I don't think she'd be right for the part in a live action film. She looks nothing at all like the character and would be a little too old for the part. And while she is a very attractive woman, I don't think that would translate well to being bald and blue. I don't think she has the bone structure to pull that off.

Also in order to draw in large audiences they would have to include a few well known actors. Assuming Liara is the LI (Ashley is the other possibily for a MaleShep) they'd likely want to cast someone with box office recognition.

On that note (LIs) if they decided to roll with Fem Shep, Kaidan is going to end up the LI. That being said I think the film would almost certainly be Male Shep.

Yeah its probably going to be me Male Shep, and you are right Liara, Ashley and Kaidan would probably all be played by famous actors. Maybe even Shep himself would be someone known. Well ME movie is even further away than ME4 so its all very rethorical for now.

I think it'd be great if they got Mark Vanderloo as Shepard then dubbed over his voice with Mark Meer's lip-syncing.

I dunno about actors and such but they should make the movie in black and white so they don't have to decide on an ending for it.

Plus, that if he also plays Javik being masked  for a ME3 film, the trollverse will implode. The resulting sarcasm and trolling would be so high that reapers would be annihilated.

That's the way to kill the starkid

For me Katee Sackhoff would make a good Ashley if she can pull off being a brunette, she can pull off a hard ass character type in her sleep (if she can pull off being a brunette she should be playing Wonder Woman in the Batman vs Superman movie). I would look to Claudia Black’s Aeryn Sun in Farscape as a starting template for Ashley.

Eric Bana (sorry I spelled Bana wrong earlier) has the chops to do a good Shepard and he has got the look, as for the voice, as long as an actor does a good portrayal of the character not having the same voice will not matter that much just as long as it is not too different. Check out this scene from Chooper.
