 I'm glad that the showrunners were brave enough to kill off Sara. I loved the character but I think it really sets the sense of gravitas for the season.

Meh, I thought they'd do that in the season 2 finale. They didn't and it surprised me, then they go ahead and do it in the first ep. of season 3 anyway. Boo!

That would be the expected route. In the show Sara wears the outfit, she uses a sonic weapon, her league name is Canary. But I'm not a writer, so what do I know. As a guess star I expect she will be killed off, and Laura will wear her outfit and take her name as a legacy. They'd better give her a sonic scream (and a helluva lot of martial arts lessons).

I'm more interested in how well they'll portray Ra's al Ghul.

I'm kinda glad they killed off Sera. I didn't dislike her character, but now they can focus on Laurel to become Black Canary without Sera beign around as a second version.

 

I'm not really sure how I feel about Oliver dating Felicity. It feels like a fanfiction romance.

I wasn't quite sure what to think of it, to be honest. But it seems that ended quite early, to be honest. Of course, we'll have to see how things play out from here (and I have yet to see the second episode).

I started watching this show a while ago. I'm about halfway through the first season. So far it's excellent. My biggest complaint at the moment is that I do not find Felicity and her awkwardness convincing at all.

Well, yeah. Even I'm not dumb enough to buy that they'd (permanently) kill off not just a main character, but the TITULAR character in the middle of a season. I do have a morbid curiosity to see just what would happen if they had balls the size of grapefruits and just go "yup, Oliver's dead, he's not coming back. Ray Palmer is the new male lead and the entire show is going to be rebranded as The Atom."

So far, I'm really liking Ra's al Ghul as this season's villain and he may just be even better than Deathstroke. The actor is also playing the part quite well.

Ra's handled Oliver as if he was an arm flailing 5 year old. Going by Arrow's depiction of Ghul's martial prowess Bruce, Grayson, Richard Dragon, Shiva and Cassandra should be physical gods. Would mention Bronze Tiger but it seems like his skills were downgraded.

 

Plus was i the only one laughing at the choreography in Thea's fight with Oliver? Those MC Hammer pants, Oliver tanking her punches and dat jump lol.

As awesome as that scene was, the fact that they didn't bring up the Lazarus Pits as a means of revival for Oliver is pretty disappointing. I mean, the guy got stabbed, fell down a cliff, and was left there to die in some ****** cold weather… and he survives. I don't know whether I should see that as a testament to his badassery or an example of bad writing. Perhaps both, I guess?

I'd lean more towards bad writing.  This season arrow has been pretty terrible.

It's hard to imagine how he'd get access to a lazarus pit. The writers said him surviving was just more in character.

This is the weakest season In terms of plot progression and character development. Seeing Manu Bennett again, and Matt Nable as Ra's are the only worthwhile highlights of the season.
