So, I've just completed ME2 with a ME1 imported character. Now i'm trying to import that character in ME3 but of course you can't because of that never been resolved bug, so I end up with a totally different-looking shep. Which is a shame. I googled about it and find that site that allows you to generate facecodes from saves. Great! Unfortunately that site seems to be down. So I'm now sitting here with a game I wanna play but I can't because of some lazy programmers. Could someone tell how to import that friggin face in ME3 without going mad in the process? Many thanks.

Yeah the easiest solution is to create a new face or recreate it as accurately as possible. Otherwise. It seems weird because I thought the bug was fixed because I can import faces. They do change a bit because of the differences in how they are generated but still...

When I import the face i get a totally different one. I mean, I created a nordic looking shepard (pale skin, blonde hair) and I get a middle eastern with olive skin and dark hair. WTF? The pre-set i used to create the face in ME1 also seems to be gone. Well, seems I have to take some photos of my shep and try to recreate him in ME3.
Anyway, since hope dies last, can anyone confirm that masseffecttools.99k.org is down or not?

in me3 most of my import shepards had gray hair, wrong skin tone, and wrong facial features. the worst offender took me about 15 minutes to fix. once i even used default shepard's face in all 3 games, from me2 to me3 i nearly laughed my head off when the import face loaded.

if your desperate
get your code from ME2, and use it in ME3
i had a problem like this, I used a scar in ME1 but it somehow corrupted the import for ME3

I managed somehow to recreate the face from scratch. I must say that I like it even though it's not totally similar, maybe because the different graphics and creation options. Anyway, it's surely better than the monster I got when I imported for the first time eheh.

Imo it's part of the fun, creating a face. Use your memory to recreate your favourite face. I have done this a lot. Constantly tweaking this and that. You know ,use more or less chin-dept or whatever. Then i started playing ,just observing how my femshep looked in animation. Until Mars where you meet Liara.at that point i decided to play further or stop and start over again. I have done this a many times. And i do not want to brag but i finally nailed it. Basicly all my Femsheps look the same but there was always something annoying in her features. My last Femshep is kinda perfect in how she looks but also very important how her face -muscles are working. So afther all these years last week was a kind off revelation to me.

There are several ways.
1.Shortest one. Try out 'Lazarus'. I don't have a link at hand, unfortunately. That's a small utility, that reshapes ME3 headmorph using raw data from ME2 headmorph. It works great in many cases, but not always, some custom faces get awful glitches. Did not work for me, but I know a lot of custom sheps that were happy with results.
2. Try to get a facecode for your shepard. Since you're using 1-2-3 import, your ME2 Shepard has no face-code attached. To get it you need to register here http://lightning.hekko.pl/me2/ and upload your save. You will get ME2 code and ME1 sliders position (always handy to know them, by the way). Then you will have an option to use a facecode in ME3 CC.
Note, however, that very likely, you will need to tweak your headmorph manually. Same code face differ A LOT in ME3 and ME2. But at least you will have a base, and you won;t need to recreate everything from scratch.
That's how it worked for me - I retrieved her facecode and spent couple of hours with CC and gibbed (for colors and for removing that permanent 'sad smiley' face expression)
NB!!! NEVER TEST YOUR HEADMORPH tweaks ON PROLOGUE!!! Sorry for caps, but that's vital part.
For some absolutely mysterious reasons nothing and no one in ME3 prologue looks right. It has the worst lighting all over the game. If you don't have any other saves - don't tweak anything until you reach the Citadel, there you will get several dialogue scenes. Prologue intro scenes won't be any use to you anyway. As I said - all the sequence has awful lighting and angles.
Also, have in mind, that even with lucky Lazarus attempt you will still see the difference, that's because of renewed engine. So, it wil never be 100% like it was, but it's possible to tweak the face close enough.
