Ah, there we go, much more interesting then Cullen. Maybe we can find and convince Shale to squish him?

I'm not anti Cullen but I would totally love to have that option.

I dont get it ...why is he popular again ? For his big role in origins, which is almost 2 minutes? Or his crucial role in DA2, being on screen a little more then that? This question is right up there with what happened to the god baby.

I am not a Cullen fan in any way & I don't understand why people like him.

He is nowhere near as good or interesting as NPCs like Teagan or Anora or Gregoir.

He is not a good looking NPC either. Teagan to me is the best looking NPC in DAO.

In addition, they retconned him for no reason other than fan service.

Plus, his stammering does not make him special.

If I meet him in Inquisition, I hope I can sacrifice him...turn him into food for Mabari War Dogs or something.

If we were to get a Templar companion, I'd probably say Evangeline would be my first choice. But since we have the Seeker Cassandra already, the likelihood of getting a Templar companion is small.

Indeed. Afterall, Cassandra is a sword and shield warrior, just like Cullen. In Origins every templar uses sword and shield.

Cassandra isn't a s&s warrior. She can use two handed weapons too. It's the player that decides which weapon they use, although restricted to their class.
And I continue to say that Seekers=/= templars. Their skillset could be different (Cassandra will likely not have templars skills).

Did I say that Seekers and templars were the same? No.

Also, is it confirmed that companions won't be limited to one weapon style? Because in that 30 minute PAX demo, it sounded like Cassandra would always be a sword and shield warrior, no matter what we as the players do.

There are screenshots of Cassandra with a two handed sword and I seem to remember it being confirmed that companions will be able to use different weapons (of their class) like in DAO. I don't remember where it was said though.

Lol well that's one way to write him off.

I agree to some extent. I was definitely surprised Cullen of all NPC's would become the fan phenominom. Always thought it would be someone like Teagan, Loghain, or perhaps even Dagna.

Bann Teagan was awesome in DA:O, he had balls to challenge Loghain and to shut up Anora. Then he defended Redcliffe. Pity we didn't see more from him.

@ Sin: Everyone has different taste. In term of NPC, I find Cullen to be the most attractive while I never find Teagan to be attractive.

@ Star fury, I can't see how Bann Teagan can be involved in the main scheme though. Cullen at least has the excuse of being templar and experienced the worst of mage and templar.

Yeah, it would be hard to explain Teagan's appearance in DA:I, which is a pity. At least we got his cameo in DA2 - "I'm absolutely Teagan, I'm kinda his uncle".

I guess he had a crush on the female Warden, should've been romanceable too. :P

tbh at this point I hope they add him just to troll the people who get so butthurt over him, and turn him into the next Liara and Morrigan with plot armour everywhere. Then, make him bed every female love interest so the male inquisitor is left with nothing. And to top things off they could make him, GOD FORBID, hit on the male inquisitor. Also, make him a badass in cutscenes.

Just a suggestion.

@Orian Tabris: the second part of my post wasn't referred to you.
And yes, it was confirmed shortly after PAX that companions could use every weapons available for their class. They even confirmed (though this happened later) they Varric could be equipped with daggers, though Bianca remains in his inventory.

I wonder if you weren't able to flirt with him in the first game, would it have had any affect on his popularity with people.

Personally I see Cullen of Dragon Age much like Loki from the Avengers. Everyone is going nuts over him but I don't see, I barely understand it. He is a good character that does have some growth, but I think there are better characters in the DA world.

I think certain characters just resonante better with the fanbase. Loki is a very complex character though, especially in the comic. He sacrified himself while helping Thor kill Superman. He has a pretty big following in the comic as well.

If you say so. I know at least 3 personal friends who hated it almost as much as I do, and I'm sure there are others. But that is a different topic for a different dicussion.
