Well Cullen was one of the many side npc got the potential to carry some strory to da2.

And for whatever the reason, they gave him a bigger role in da2 even as a companion in da:I.

All i can say is really, he must got some friend in high place.

I dont really like this, but that just me

I am not a big fan of templars or Cullen, but he was one of the more reasonable templars. So personaly I wouldn't mind to see how he and Cassanda would get along.

Uh....No. For the vast majority of Cullens time in DA2 he was one of the most prejudice men in the game. His philosophy was that every single mage, child or adult, was an insanely dangerous risk to the world that should be imprisoned and treated rather harshly, it was only after this mass murder and horrible treatment of the mages in the later years of the game that he began to second guess not his beliefs but how Meredith was running things. He never clearly said that he now sees mages in a different light, only that Meredith was wrong to be THAT.

1. Nope. He was a very reasonable templar and oyu got his philosophy somewhat wrong. Not that it is wrong ,since prejudice is sometihng everyone has and is not inherently negative and in the case of mages it is fully justified.
Not to mention that Cullen never said mages should be treated harshly.

Ah, there we go, much more interesting then Cullen. Maybe we can find and convince Shale to squish him?

Interesting is subjective.

I prersonally prefer a well-written "mundane" human over a dozen "unique/special" companions.

I honestly missed that bus as well. Not being female to judge on how attractive he was, I wouldn't be able to say. To me, he was a forgettable secondary character at best. He even agitated me with his "They might still have demons in them lying dormant" ramble. I guess if they could go so far as making Ser Gilmore a companion, anything is possible.

Ser Gilmore is not a companion. Unless you're referring to the mod for PC. Which was a pretty sweet mod as well...Loved it.

If you say so. I know at least 3 personal friends who hated it almost as much as I do, and I'm sure there are others. But that is a different topic for a different dicussion.

Yeah, I didn't like Citadel, either. My husband LOVED it. I thought it was pretty average.

But back on topic...

I'm late to the party, but I would have loved to have seen more of Bann Teagan. Once you brain bleach that jester show out of your mind, ala demon Connor, he was actually pretty awesome. I flirt like mad with him every time I play DAO. Then frown, because it goes nowhere.

I was referring to the mod actually and how fans also made a big deal out of him, despite his minor role in the game. Hence why I can't understand how Cullen became such a popular character, looking at his role. A good mod, however voicing deterred me from using it.

I honestly don't know how big his fandom was after DAO, but Cullen appeared in DA2 too, with a bigger role. His fanbase might've increased after DA2.

I played DA2 first, so, definitely. I agree he was forgetable in DA:O, especially if you played that first. But his role in DA2 built on the person we met in DA:O. He is a fairly nuanced character, ripe for further development.

Honestly, when people fall back on the "female fans just have lots of hormones" argument, it just shows how little they understand the character or can recognize good writing. Also, they're misogynists, but I figure that much is obvious.

I'm curious how many fans he'd keep if he ends up leaning much more templar than mage since many fans seem to think he'd side with mages after changing him.

Well I don't seehim staying Templar after what happened during the ending of DA2.

I think he would be a good edition to the game even if he isn't a companion- considering he's seen both extreme sides of the mages being evil and templars being evil in DA:O and DA2. Not a fangirl but I don't find him annoying. Also I noticed that the fans of Cullen are a lot less vocal than haters who constantly complain about the fans of Cullen.

Will we finally see him go crazy and accuse everyone of being abominations? I'm still waiting.

I'm calling it now: Cullen is, if not the leader, a very prominent person within the Red Templars.

tbh at this point I hope they add him just to troll the people who get so butthurt over him, and turn him into the next Liara and Morrigan with plot armour everywhere. Then, make him bed every female love interest so the male inquisitor is left with nothing. And to top things off they could make him, GOD FORBID, hit on the male inquisitor. Also, make him a badass in cutscenes.

Just a suggestion.

Sounds like fun. I'd pay to see that.

I wouldn't mind. I have pcs that sided with mages or Templars both.

I don't think anyone has THAT idealistic of an impression of him (do they?)

Considering that Cullen has had a whopping combined total of only 13 minutes of screen time, I woulnd't say you are among few. I most certainly agree with you.

I guess it stems from that womanly urge to fix people. First, his shyness around women and then his PTSD. I imagine a lot of his fans play mages as well, which is odd because he's completely devoted to the order. Maybe they think they can fix his beliefs too?

Could be that his fans just really like his beady, addict eyes and that greasy perm though.

I, too, hope that if Cullen is in DAI, he sticks to his Templar guns, so to speak.

You mean you hope Cullen might be an antagonist to a hypothetical mage Inquisitor by fighting for one of the templar factions, or you hope that he'll be pro-templar even if he's working with an apostate protagonist?
