Anders' just because he didn't mention his relationship with Carl in Awakening didn't mean that it never happened. If you look closely at him in Awakening his jovial attitude is just a front.

Imma call bullsh*t on this

Why, might I ask?

Because

A. In Awkaening he makes zero indication that he is bisexual
B.  His attitude is not a front in Awakening, I'd argue that DA2 is his altered state on account of Justice.

A) Why would his bisexuality come up in Awakening? For all we know Sigrun may be bisexual for all we know. There's a large difference between what we are shown and what the developers know.

B) A good proportion of his sarcastic comments were very bitter jabs. That's where the Vengeance thing started with Ander's hatred and resentent. He wasn't a happy person. - Anyway that comes down to intepretation so we could both be right, or wrong or somewhere in the middle.

What do you mean "again"? Sebastian was ladies-only.

And the ladies can keep him.
:innocent:

Agreed.

Making the hottest LI in the game the boring, self-righteous prince was the worst thing Bioware has ever done.

Pfft please Bro/Sister.

Fenris minus the angst, and spikey hair was the lankiest elf presented thus far.

._. He is the hottest LI.

Made up description (spikey hair): argument invalid. ^^

Pfft whatever then go drool over that pampered noble with his drawl, and chin whiskers.

I prefer Fenris...Spikey hair and all *sighs*

I don't even like males in that way.

Anyway, you clearly missed my own reply to that post. This is what I posted:

Was that ever saying much anyway?

My opinion is that Isabela is the most attractive (though I much, much prefer caucasins).

I don't think I ever completed an Anders romance because he annoys me too much.

I only ever completed Merrils.

I had 3 playthroughs. First was with Merril, second I was rude to everyone (agressive hawke), third, my fem!hawke meant to romance Fenris but ended up ninjaromancing Merril again. :P

My male bloodmage Hawke romanced Fenris coz I found the idea funny (plus as I said Anders annoys me)
My female warrior Hawke romanced  Seb <_<.  I just didn't see her with Fenris despite the fact that she was pro templar, she wasn't a crazy exstremist. The sebastians romance is awful though so meh.

I romanced Isabella with a female rogue Hawke, Her romance is my favorite tbh.

I  romanced Merril with a male mage character and it was alright.

I tried Anders with a healer mage but idk I just could never get through it.

A.  Pretty sure he has a quote "All  want to do is be free and chase girls" or something very similar to that

B.  In Awakening he's pretty chill about it though, he's not destroying chantries and slaughtering templars for being templars

I do admit one of Ander's strange lines is when he thinks separating from the chantry is a bad idea if you talk to Wynne with him if I remember right.

It was something about how all he wants is a pretty girl, a hot meal, and the right to shoot lightning at fools to my recollection. I'm certain about that last part, though, and I can sympathize.

That is entirely incorrect.

Mike Laidlaw once said that they don't know what they are going to do in the future (in regards to making Origins). The developers only know as much as they show. What we see in a DA game (I won't speak for all BioWare games), is what they know of the lore at the time. They will never leave things out, only leave things open-ended.

For example, they had no idea ahead of time, that Anders would merge with Justice in the sequel. They just wrote that when creating DA2, so that they could bring two companions back at once.

This is entirely false.  Writers generally always know FAR more about the story and the world than they show in their works, but in the case of Dragon Age, this is already established.  Gaider has said as much in at least one location.

Not knowing where you are going in the future =/= only knowing as much as you show.

Besides that, what Laidlaw said ONCE doesn't mean they don't know NOW.

Beyond this, why in the world are you making such a silly assertion anyway?  Who told you that the Devs only know as much as they show and never leave things out?  You're WRONG, but I'd like to know where you're getting such an absurd notion.

So I say stuff like that from time to time even though I'm bisexual. Sometimes I say oh god even though I'm athiest. Sometimes those sorts of comments become habits. The thing is that we as a player don't know everything that's going on the universe.

This is the lines:

Anders:*sigh*All I want is a pretty girl, a decent meal, and the right to shoot lightning at fools
Warden: I think you're aiming too low.
Anders: You're right, i should have a harem, a banquet and the ability to rain down fireballs on every templar in creation

He never struck me as the most stable guy, even before DA2.  As Varric told Bethany in Legacy (with a snarky Hawke,) "We're laughing to cover the pain, Sunshine."  I think that applies to Anders here.

Hated how Anders went from being a carefree dude who wanted to be free and chase after chicks in Awakening to some sexually confused "WHAT ABOUT THE MAGES?!" angst filled assclown in DA2.

I found Anders to be a frustrating case, because I usually aim to set up a PC that is generous to all of the companions. Anders is probably the first I've come across in either DA or Mass Effect that I could not bring myself to save. I didn't even think I'd like Sebastian, but I couldn't help but give him the revenge he wanted.

It's funny how he shows his hypocrisy if you give Fenris to Danarius while he's in the party. I'm pretty sure he is the only companion that does not object.

This.

People can be squarely bi and **still** prefer one gender over another.  The idea that it's weird to think of Anders as bi because he only openly talked about one gender in Awakening is only actually weird to people who don't understand that sexuality and orientation is infinitely more complex than ticking one of three options.

The fact the he oogles only female statuary, only talks about chasing skirts, never gives any indication that he is bisexual in any way, until Justice assumes direct control leads me to beleive that he was originally written as heterosexual

Totally off the topic, but unless Gaider or someone has said otherwise, I find it extremely hard to believe that merging Anders and Justice is something they had no idea about during Awakening and just made up for DA2 to bring back those characters. There's a TON of foreshadowing about the merge and what it leads to in that expansion.

And yet more than a few players have talked about pegging him as gay or bi in Awakenings before they ever saw DA2.
