If companions are "playersexual" I hope it will be a different path for each sex.

And I see that as a negative, as I prefer them to have their own set of rules that they follow.  Though I don't mind certain type of influences, but it all has to fall back on who that character is.

They do.  Those rules just change playthrough to playthrough.

I don't see why this would ever be a problem for anyone.

It's a problem for me because I think characters should exist as their own independent entity, not a satellite that revolves around the player. One of my biggest gripes with an RPG is if everything feels too playercentric. I believe playersexual characters are an aspect of that. A player should feel like they're part of the game's world, not that the world revolves around them.

Making that determination requires metagaming, in which case you're no longer roleplaying anyway. So you've already taken yourself out of the game's world. Anything the game does after that is irrelevant.

We must have different definitions of roleplaying then. In most RPGs I play, after finishing one playthrough I start another as a different gender/class/etc and see how things are different. The more different they are, the more I feel like part of the game's world.

So... what? All you people who derive pleasure from the game being different the second time around - you have 4 romances to take advantage of. Play a different one, for different role playing reasons, and the game is different. What's the issue?

A certain JRPG does this just fine, along with even being able to flirt with people who won't date you.

P3 does it better. At least if you're a cheating ass you can get punished if you get caught. P4 just doesn't give a ****.

Nah, man, it's Kingdom Hearts -- You can clearly feel the sexual tension between every single one of the characters. They call it 'close friendship' but we know.. we know.

Hell no, unlike P3, I have the option to be a friend or no in P4 not to mention there is far more events, in P3 you are forced into a romance in a s-link. Also that is false. If you time it right you can do every single girl s-link and romance and none will break, ever. The fact that I do need to do timing just to get my UPs is complete and utter bs and horrible game deisgn, which thankfully Atlus fixed in P4.

Sora is your regular pimp - He creates sexual tension with everybody he meets -- In fact, his aura of handsomeness is so incredible that he makes himself feel attracted towards himself (Roxas). Kingdom Hearts is the ultimate fishing pond for any of kind of shipping.
