For my next playthrough of ME3, I decided to used the gibbed editor and make it so Thane died in ME2.

Before importing the save into ME3, I opened up the ME2 editor and went to the Plot>>Henchman>>Flags tab, unchecked "Thane is loyal" and checked "Thane is dead".

Imported the save into ME3 and started the new game. When I gained control of the Normandy, I saw Thane's name on the board on Deck 3, and figured everything was fine. Was further reassured by not getting Thane's email after rescuing Primarch Victus on Menae.

However, next time I went to Huerta Memorial, there is Thane exercising by the window.

Can I still change Thane's alive/dead state with the ME3 editor, and if so, how?

I'm not too familiar with ME3's editor but according to this list: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=zv8mxcxs it looks like Thane has to be specifically marked as not alive and dead.

Setting Thane's 'not alive' state to true fixed it. Thank you
