Especially since most ME2 romances (with the exception of Garrus and Tali) aren't available in ME3, since they decided to more or less ignore the entire ME2 squad.

whenever I try to continue my romance of an me1 character in me3 I always stay loyal, but like its been said they will still take you back even if you weren't loyal. even in the LotSB liara will still take you back...she will be like "wtf!" at first but if you persist then she will eventually come around in the dlc.
and I don't really think they ignored the me2 squadmates, yeah almost none of them were permanent squadmates but still they had romance options. at least I know jack, Miranda, thane, garrus, and tali do. that's not that bad considering that me2 squadmates make up 5/11 options while new romance and me1 romance only make up 3/11 each

While, true, you CAN continue a romance from ME2 to ME3, the fact that the ME2 squadmates only show up for their one cameo mission and then never again (save the Citadel DLC, which I haven't gotten yet, so I can't comment on that one way or the other), the "romance" feels rather hollow. Granted, probably a bit more "realistic," the whole "leaving your lover behind to go to war" thing, instead of dragging them with you into every single deadly, dangerous, life-or-death situation the galaxy has to offer, but the fact that the interaction with ME2 squadmates is SO limited is major bugbear for me in how ME3 was done. Yeah, I know, they had to make room for people who got most (or possibly ALL) of the ME2 squad killed in the suicide mission, but I saved every last one of them. And the thing that made me so ansty for ME3? The badass "gearing up" cinematic at the end of ME2, with your whole squad right behind you and ready to kick Reaper ass. Until they all leave and start doing their own thing. That bothered me. Though, I really do like some of the character development between ME2 and ME3 (Jack, in particular, went through an awesome change, and is a LOT prettier now that she has hair), the fact that they essentially reset you to the ME1 squad and you can never have the ME2 folks (excepting the two that bridged all three games, Garrus and Tali) did lessen my enjoyment of 3. And if you were a lesbi-Shepard romancing Chambers? Forget it, she's vanished into the ether, if she didn't die no matter what you did at the end of ME2.
