Ive seen soooo many threads on "Ashley bashing".  Hell, out of the two LIs in the first game she's the ONLY one I actually liked.  So what if she's a little "racist" or "xenophobic".  We all have baggage but in the words of Shepard "The trick is, finding someone with a matching set."  Overall, she's a pretty damn good character. 

Lets compare a bit shall we?

Where as Liara is actually a little smarter than Ashley, the pro that Ashley has over her in this regard is that as least Ash didnt do the moronic thing and lock herself in a prothean barrier bubble (an alleged prothean expert btw who doesnt know wtf she's doing.) and expect someone else to get her out.  Secondly, on top of said FIRST moronic move, she was YELLING for help in a mine/ruin crawling with geth.  Seriously, if you know you're being chased, who in their right mind would be YELLING for help so as to give away their exact position to the enemy?

Next, in a strait up fist fight, Ashley would smear the deck with Liara.  (Thats no biotic powers and no weapons allowed)  Why? Because Liara is a WUSS.  Sorry, but I like my women a little rough around the edges, makes them feel more "real" I suppose.  I admit though, my first intial impression of Liara was "Bow chika wow wowww" after getting to know the character a bit, that quickly faded.

I suppose the only real gripe I have with Ashley (which was almost a deal breaker with me on her too lol.)  Was that she seems to be such a "Holy Roller" or "Bible Thumper".  I am a Wiccan by design.  I also believe in "all" paths to a "god".  But someone to believe that there is only ONE god and that if you dont follow him you're going to burn for it is just a concept that escapes me.  (Albiet not all Christians/Catholics etc. have this mentality mind you)  But a good number of them do.  Enough to raise a few flags when people start dropping the "G" bomb around me. 

But seriously, that's the only negative feature that I can see with Ash that would even come close to being a deal breaker with me.  And even then, she didnt seem to try and "force" the issue on Shepard so I was "cool" with it.  IMO, Liara has far more "unredeeming" qualities than Ash.  And for that reason, I ALWAYS choose Ash over Liara.

I just honestly dont see the appeal of Liara.  And it's not even because she's an alien.  Hell, if I had the option to, I'd get with Tali in a heartbeat simply because she's got ALL of the qualities I look for in a woman.  (but thats another thread altogether lol.)

Ok, Im done ranting heh...I was just so tired of seeing all of the "Lets bash on Ash" threads and not seeing any that hate on Liara so I wanted to remedy that
