Liara's a leverl 60 adept, while they'll both be lucky to ever hit level 30.

Yes.On insane,ashley sucked from the beginning to the end.Good thing to have kaidan at the beginning.Without him i barely could defeat the headhunters near choras den.Ashley was always the first who died and get in the way.Only Garrus was worser in the beginning.Liara could handle multiple krogans on her own...

Can you make a case that the process is at all similar? You can say the end result is similar, or that the goal is similar, but do you know anything at all about how the process actually works? Because it's the process that is draining, as Liara says.

Liara only gets weak on two occasions. 1 is after you rescue her, when she hadn't eaten or slept in days. The second time is after probing the prothean beacon, a process which she says would have destroyed a lesser mind.

So, yeah, absolutely nothing indicating that Liara is weak, and she certainly isn't dumb.

And again it can come full circle of, do you have any proof that it DOESNT operate the same? See where we're going here? At this point it's a stalemate....Neither one of us can, without a shadow of a doubt, prove the other wrong so we will unfortunately at this point have to "Agree to disagree?" *extends hand for truce*

I actually never used any of my biotice squaddies on my Insanity run....I used my Soldier, Ash, and Tali.  Now given, out of the two Ash died the most...I can count on one hand how many times she died...But Tali never once died (which is what suprised me lol)

you have said this a few times now as an argument against her. First couple times I let it slip, but can't any longer I'm afraid. she did NOT get 'stuck' or was dumb.....she explicitly states she locked herself in there on 'purpose' knowing the Geth could not harm her.....

it was only afterwards she thought of the 'how to get out'....but in the very first instance, when you have to make a split second decision on living or dieing, it was actually quite clever move....

No, it's not a stalemate.

You said "Liara is weak", then put forth your evidence. I shot the evidence's credibility to hell.
You now have no evidence as to why Liara is "weak", while I have quite a bit of evidence saying she is not weak, so you've been bested.

Did you also forget that finding actual working prothean technology is incredibly rare in your Liara hatedom rage?

The fact that she was able to work it at all cements the fact that Liara is highly intelligent, and the undisputed expert on protheans in the entire galaxy.

Why dont you just accept the fact that without Liara, Shepard would be screwed and the galaxy overrun by the reapers.

She predicted the reaper plot before Shepard did, with no beacon to help her.

Thats impossible.On the first mission,you always have kaidan on your side.And im sure you didnt make an insanity run from level 1.Because without biotics your team wouldnt even make it thru the ferros tunnels,where nearly always 3 krogans came out at once for melee...

I never said that Liara wasnt somewhat Intelligent...I admit...she's a big player in the large scheme of things...I am merely saying that "cutesy damsel in distress" mentality along with some of her "panic moments" and other things have turned her completely off to me.  Id rather engage with a bigot (Ash) that will say what she means and wants...Than someone who wants to be PC about it and shy (Liara).

This is why you think Liara is weak in combat.  It appears you do not like using biotics in combat that much.

I love using biotics and I think Liara was the strongest character in combat.

So, you can't say Liara is weak in combat just because she doesn't fit your preferred playstyle.   Ashley doesn't fit my playstyle (or any Soldier for that matter) but I'm not going to say she is 'weak' b/c I didn't prefer using her.

Smartass...I meant beyond Eden Prime I never used them lol...And yes...you can...with grenades.

Plus, immunity and stasis dont last forever...its a matter of outlasting the opponent...You CAN do that you know.

Its so easy.Let a krogan charge ashley and try this with liara.Dont help them.See who survives longer or defeat the krogan.Its definitely[/b] not ashley...
And krogans are the strongest enemies in insane.
For me,the answer is clear who is the better fighter.

You see you have to be careful about stating your preference as fact, because a lot of your reasonings for disliking Liara dont actually stand up to real in game evidence, and you would be best served keeping them to yourself.

Yes, Liara isnt a model on confidence and social skills, but trying to jump right to the deep end calling her the things that you do wont fly with many of her other character strengths. You probably wont have noticed, but thats the hook with Liara. The fact that she is at both times sensitive and caring, yet strong and capable of aggression.

Instead of needlessly hating on Liara, why dont you accept shes simply a character you either cant understand, or dont want to because shes not for you.

Amen. Liara was always the strongest character during my playthroughs wheere I used her, and I often found myself swearing at the screen because she had a nasty habit of stealing all my kills before I could even take a shot at them. I didn't even try to turn her into such an overpowered character, and yet at the end that's exactly how she turned out in the end. Though I will admit seeing her wipe the floor with a Geth Juggernaut was extremely amusing.

Both she and Ashley have their own faults and strengths; and neither of them are 'weak' characters by any stretch of the imagination. Ashley is just better at showing her inner, and outer, strength than Liara is. Does that make her the better character? That's a matter of opinion. I will admit, however, that Ashley's character was better developed than Liara's during the first game. Both Liara and Kaidan got shafted in that department, and I hope that things improve in those regards for ME2.

So on that note, can't we all just get along? :happy:
