Something around 3-4000 hrs in the triology of which 2000 hrs+ ME3 was.

Unreal series is still unstoppable over 6000 hrs+

So I've seen many comments from a plethora of posters along the many months of being an active member of this forum about having many hours played and the stigma they attach to it.

This is along the lines of what they say:

  • He/she must have no life
  • He/she must not have very much social skills
  • He/she needs a tan[I'll let you figure that out]
  • He/she must have no real priorities
The list goes on and on. I'm sure you've heard more. I'm pretty sure many here are fathers/mothers - husbands/wives with children or students etc that play this game a lot or use to that have no relation to the above stigmas.

Anyways I'm curious what yall think about it.

Personally I would not see it as a stigma, it simply means they derived a lot of entertainment value from one game. There are not many games you can purchase that will provide that much entertainment. Most games grow boring after 20 or 30 hours.

People may bash people with 1000 hours in a single game.

Yet those people happily clock in 200 hours in five different games. Is there any real difference?

Idiot: "You've put 1000 hours into this game! You must have no life!"

*The idiot, after having said that, signs off of his computer, switches on the TV and continues racking up the countless hours of watching television shows which certainly amount to way over 1000 hours*

The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me. Unless you're spending day and night finding a cure for the world's worst diseases (or something else that will benefit human kind or yourself), you're otherwise wasting time and have no life, according to the flawed logic of such people making such silly statements. In truth: time spent doing something you enjoy is time well spent. Maintaining your mental health (which happiness is a part of) is just as important as making money.

Why does anyone care how long someone else plays a game?

Seriously.  How is it worse to play one game for 1000 hours compared to 20 games for 50 hours each.  I have damn near 800 hours into Crusader Kings II... but I've also only bought one or two other full games since ME3.  It's just the choices you make with your gaming sessions, that's all.

Why do I care what imaginary people on the Int4rw3bz think about how I play my games? Especially as they think speed matters, when what is really needed is a slow but firm play that touches all the right spots.

Getting finished in minutes is the sign of an inexperienced man who does not know how to play well with others.

I want to see the guy who manages 2000+ hours without physical repercussions.
